According to JONATHAN FEIGEN,Houston Chronicle "Moochie Norris was signed to a non-guaranteed contract for next season when he signed for the duration of the astcampaign. He is considered an asset as a backup point guard to Francis." Is this correct? If so hooray! He has worked out fantastically for the Rocks and is much better suited for the current game than Drew. ------------------
Everyone thinks popeye or clutch or Puff or someone else has all these great sources. I'm going to talk to Mooch rite now. Q- Mooch(I call him that cuz we are good buds and stuff), You had a great season playing behind Francis this year. You are much better than that overated Backstreet. You stole his job and made him fake an injury in response! Whenever you come in the game, everyone cheers, not cringes. And you dont break your arms when you fall down. You have your own fanclub. You came from the depths of the CBA to have you own chat. But now Moocher, everyone wants to know, what are your future plans? . . . . . . . . . . . . . ^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^ [.___.....___.] [....O.....O....] [......<>.......] [....:::::::....] [.:: _____ ::.] - I want to be ROCKIT! [::{_____}::] I'm the supersub! VRoooM! -:::::::::::::- muh muh muh MOOCHIE!!! There you go, everything you wanted to know about Moocher, but where afraid to ask. ------------------ ------------------
Well JF usually only writes pretty good stuff and you have to think his sources are the Rockets Org, but I think he is wrong on this. As I remember it,the Rockets signed him for his 2nd ten day on Feb 18th, after the "all-star" break which only encompassed two games in the ten days, then on Feb 28 for the rest of the season ... that much is correct. But Moochie was not committed to play next year when he signed that player's offer non-guaranteed contract. Unless he has since been offered a new contract, and I am hoping it was for more than a lousy year, then it must have happened in the dawning days of the season or since the end of the Rockets schedule. Could this be more "spin doctoring" by the Rockets, trying to get offers to Mooch to slow down while they plan the next move. Last I heard, Mooch was NOT committed to the Rockets contractually OR emotionally. Last I heard, and this wasn't too long ago, he had not "made up (his) mind about next season,yet...". Maybe Jon has heard something that is not been made wholly public yet, but I'm betting he missread something or was "mis-told". I would be overjoyed if it's true. But I will wait for someone to clarify this or confirm it. [This message has been edited by popeye (edited April 23, 2000).]
