What are we going to do at this position? We have Domanik Williams back from injury and Ron Dayne. Davis is a 1000 yard player, but he was out all season. Dayne only came through in the final games, there isnt enough to really judge him. Lundy doesnt look like anything special. Taylor has only played one good game, dont know anything about him.

Are we going to need to waste money or a pick on a RB again?

See the [thread=122489]CARTILAGE[/thread] (or lack thereof) thread in this same forum. :( I don't want to admit it, but I think you can put a fork in his knees. :(

Taylor is the future. Can't see us drafting a RB, especially first 3 rounds. We will draft linemen, corner, safety.

    It's a four-headed monster right now: GADO-TAYLOR-WILLIAMS-DAYNE, oh my!

To correct your opening post, TAYLOR has played in four games, and gained 120+ yards in those, 99 in the last one.

Whom would YOU choose? I'd pick TAYLOR. I was really impressed with his desire to keep churning yards after the first hit, and the touchdown where he hit the line and bounced to go around to the endzone almost untouched.

There are a lot bigger holes on this team than RB. I would be surprised and even disappointed if they used a 1st day pick on one.

To me, it depends if a RB slides to spot lower than their value or the Texans trade down for an extra 2nd or 3rd. Peterson and Bush may slide because they have had injury concerns. Bush in the 2nd round would be a good value if he checks out on his physical.

I think Dayne and Taylor will be the top duo next year if the Texans don't draft someone like Peterson or Bush early. I do think the Texans will probably draft at least 1 RB with the pick most likely in the 4-6 rounds.

My bad, i thought Davis was going to come back next season. I guess we are going to keep pursuing a running back then.

I think RB is a major need. They cannot go into next season hoping Ron Dayne can perform consistently. They need a big time runner and if Adrian Peterson drops to them, they better take him. Since they have crap at quarterback, a big time Rb could really help the offense. Although I think they should dump Carr, I dont think they will. THat is why a good rb is so important.

As much as I loved DD (or DW), he is done or at least done with the Texans.

I hope we don't go into next season hoping for Ron Dayne to be our primary back. A backfield of Dayne, Taylor, and Lundy isn't bad, but I would love to pick up a stud back to carry the load. Taylor looked good enough to not make a RB an dire need IMO.

However, if AP is available...I wonder if Kubiak/McNair can resist passing on both Bush and AP back to back seasons. Other possible candidates our Lynch (not likely), Michael Turner (maybe too expensive), Betts (same as Turner.

One unlikely option might be Selvin Young from UT. As a longhorn fan, I was never a big fan of him. But I've read a couple things about Selvin going in the first day of the draft. During the Alamo Bowl, the commentator was saying how Mel Kiper thinks Selvin will be drafted day one, he says scouts will like his ability to block and return kicks. If he were to fall to the 4th or 5th, he could be an option. Let's not forget that he was getting PT as a freshman while Cedric was running the show.

    Draft Peterson.

    And I'll take a Peterson/Dayne combo.

Lets not make Taylor out to be Jim Brown....i mean, theres probably a reason he was buried on the depth chart. He had a nice game but there were girls high school volleyball games that day that had more meaning.

I'd draft the best RB available...unless theres a free agent stud im unaware of.

Davis changed his last name to Wiliams and his number to 31. Supposedly there is no swelling in his knee and it's close to 100%

Kubiak sounded like they were moving on from DD. I was a huge fan of him, but the guy has missed the 21 of the past 32 games the Texans have played. We need to prepare ourselves as if he won't be there.

I agree with that but if he can come back and show that's he's the same player before the injury then I'd be happy. I'm hoping for Adrian Peterso i a trade up and Troy Smith in the second round

If the Texans keep Carr, then I'd at least want the 1st pick to be either a Running Back or a Left Tackle.

Either of those 2 players give Carr a better chance of suceess. There are 2 players who touch the ball on each and every play, the Center and the quarterback.

Carr needs a CONSISTENT RUNNING BACK!!!!!!

As much as i like Peterson, his upright running style and injury history concerns me. He kinda looks like Chris brown at cu and look how durable he has been. I would really like to see what thomas jones will cost me. If i could give the bears babin or peak plus a 3rd maybe they could do that. if not, look for them to try to develo the spot. The highest rd denver took a rb wwas 2nd rd with portis and bell, so dont look to change.

Domanik is not back from injury. He's got a long way to go.
