The Celtics announced today that guard Ray Allen has exercised the option on his contract for next season. The widely expected move will bring Allen back for a fifth season with the Celtics. The 35-year-old averaged 16.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists last season, making his 10th All-Star team in the process. He shot a career-high 44.4 percent from 3-point range and became the league’s all-time 3-point leader when he passed Reggie Miller in a game against the Lakers on Feb. 10. http://bostonherald.com.nyud.net/blogs/sports/celtics/?p=1159&srvc=home&position=recent Looks like the Celts are making one more run at it. He could of been useful for the Bulls.
Ray Allen is still a very, very good player considering his age. That's why shooting is so essential. Even when you're all bogged down with Battier-like athleticism; I mean uh... intangibles. You can still rely on your silky smooth jumper.
of course he stayed. why would he give up all the money to take the MLE somewhere else? plus because of the championship no other team or city would appreciate him as much as they do in boston. he can do no wrong there.
