Houston band, The Linus Pauling Quartet has a new album coming out -- Bag of Hammers. This song, CROM, is the first cut from that album. Before clicking on any of this, note that it is crushing stoner psychedelic hard rock, and also, even for clay, there is a lot of mayhem in the vid. High-res, better audio version:
The Linus Pauling Quartet's Crom [Official Video] from Ramon LP4 on Vimeo.
Band website: http://www.worshipguitars.org/LP4/LP4_WordPress/ So love this song and am proud of these guys, rocking into middle age and middle earth simultaneously! LOL
Damn, there's a lot of these guys on youtube actually. Had no idea. Here's a good one about "the black bong" stealing souls.
LP4 has been at it for a good while, now. I caught their pre-album release show at Fitzgerald's a couple months ago, and it was a very nice bill that included stoner metal dudes From Beyond and local "supergroup" Modfag. Here's the Houston Press review of that show: http://blogs.houstonpress.com/rocks/2012/06/linus_pauling_quartet_bag_of_h_1.php Their new song "Rust" really was killer like the article says. Check that one out.
Keep supporting local music y'all...both on CD and at the live shows! Houston's scene is happening on all levels (especially alternative, blues, singer/songwriter & alt-country) and we are starting to get some national exposure. Thank you!!! (stepping away from the soapbox now....)
Hi gang. Out of lurk mode for an update on this album. New video came out this week, and the track is really one of their best yet. Even Mrs. B-Bob was dancing around to it, and I've never been able to sell her on the band. Just a great piece of rock, this one. Whole album is available now: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/bag-of-hammers/id556096242 Or for old-skool CD purchase: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/thelinuspaulingquartet Am ordering mine today.
