Whatever you do, do NOT go into ANY of the Orlando parks without one of those 'Express' passes. Pay whatever extra you need to pay. Do not question this, just do it. You will understand when you have ridden the same ride 5 times and realize you just passed the same guy in line every time, and he hardly ever moved. Unless you LIKE standing in lines in the Florida heat and humidity, and want to spend the majority of your vacation doing exactly that. That is why staying in one of the actual resort hotels there is such a nice deal - that express pass is part of the package.
