This was a 12 team keeper league - we kept Shaun Alexander QB - Daunte Culpepper RB - Shaun Alexander RB - Eddie George WR - Laverneus Coles WR - Isaac Bruce WR - Ashley Lelie K - Jeff Wilkins DEF - NY Giants Reserves: QB - Drew Brees RB - Adrian Peterson WR - Joey Galloway WR - Peter Warrick TE - Bubba Franks DEF - Saints
It's not bad. Better hope Bruce and Lelie get some receptions and TDs. When you got Holt on STL and Plummer as QB for DEN, not sure on their stats. And also, hope for Daunte to have a good year and not a repeat of the crap he had last year. But overall, I would give it a B-.
what about mine? Rich Gannon QB Kordell Stewart QB Keyshawn Johnson WR Curtis Conway WR Jerry Porter WR Corey Dillon RB Eddie George RB Billy Miller TE Sebastian Janikowski K Philly DEF Green Bay DEF Bench: Tommy Maddox QB Mike Alstott RB Warrick Dunn RB Frank Wycheck TE Todd Pinkston WR Stacey Mack RB Dal DEF I'm open to any suggestions, since this is my first fantasy football league I have played in , advice would be nice.
WR Bruce is slowing down. Should look to upgrade later on. CHI RB's are in serious doubt, especially if they trade for Staley. Are there any other backup RB's available? Starting 2 QB's/2 DEF and no swing RB/WR? That's interesting. I'm in the same boat as you with Conway (Stupid Pennington). Even if Testeverde is decent, Conway is not known for lasting the whole season. I'd drop Wycheck (aging) and pick up either another WR or QB. I'd also start Maddox over Kordell. The Pitt passing attack is more established than CHI. I rate their O-lines as equal.
This is mine from a private 10 team Yahoo league w/ my buddies. QB Culpepper, Daunte QB Brooks, Aaron WR Harrison, Marvin WR Johnson, Chad WR Jackson, Darrell WR Reed, Josh RB Tomlinson, LaDainian RB Dillon, Corey TE McMichael, Randy WR/RB Hambrick, Troy Bench WR Bates, D'Wayne RB Smith, Antowain QB Ramsey, Patrick WR Johnson, Andre
QB: Culpepper is one of the best in the game. Excellent RB: Alexander and George make a pretty fearsome backfield. George's consistancy provides a nice compliment to Alexander's explosiveness. Very Good WR: Coles will be great, but the other two have serious question marks. Will Lelie catch enough balls? Will Bruce continue his slow deterioration? Fair TE: You have Franks listed as a reserve, but have nobody in the starters section. Do you not have to start a TE? Is Franks your starter? Incomplete K: If you're a believer in a Ram's renaissance, then Wilkins should be a top kicker. I think he'll be middle of the pack, which is fine. Fair to Good Def: Decent Ds. Nothing spectacular, but will get the job done. Fair to Good Overall: This looks like a very good team for a 12 team league. WR is your weakest area (or possibly TE?) but your strength at QB and RB compensates for this nicely. Good to Very Good
This is mine. I did this two or three weeks ago. This was a listed draft. QB Manning, Peyton (QB-Ind) WR Owens, Terrell (WR-SF) WR Johnson, Keyshawn (WR-TB) WR Smith, Rod (WR-Den) RB Davis, Stephen (RB-Car) RB Thomas, Anthony (RB-Chi) TE Miller, Billy (TE-Hou) Bench Green, William (RB-Cle) Bench Green, Trent (QB-KC) Bench Alexander, Stephen (TE-SD) Bench Randle El, Antwaan (WR-Pit) Morten Anderson is my kicker. I have Bmores defense. I am thinking about trading Keyshawn away for a top tier running back.
Kam -- you need to say how many teams your league has in order to properly evaluate your team. Also, I doubt you'll be able to get a top back for someone like Keyshawn.
Here is my team in a Scoring only keeper league with 12 teams total. My keeper was T. Owens. My Starting Line up is QB B. Johnson RB S. Alexander RB S. Mack WR T. Owens WR D. Stalworth TE J. Shockey K. Elam Dallas D Reserves QB D. Carr QB Bulger RB M.Shipp RB T. Hollings WR J. Thrash WR J. Rice WR Randle El WR A. Johnson Obviously my strenght is at WR. I can go with one RB and 4 receivers in our league which may be my best bet if Mack doesn't produce. I picked up J. Thrash in the 14th round because no one knew the extent of his neck injury. Bulger was picked to spite the team with Warner and could be a key player and/or trade bait if Warner goes down. What do you think?
mine is a ten team private head to head league. based on my team listed above, would anyone recommend picking up Trung Canidate or Troy Hambrick, who are both available? i could dump wycheck. smart move? i am benching kordell for maddox, good advice, thanks.
Wycheck also got banged up in the last preseason game, I believe. I'd venture to guess that Canidate has a better season than Hambrick... but I could be wrong.
Starters QB: Brooks RB: Tomlinson RB: Dillon WR: Moulds WR: Robinson, Koren WR: Johnson, Keyshwan (I see Pinkston overtaking him, though) TE: McMichael K: Janikowski D: Philadelphia Reserves QB: Ramsey (if Brooks gets hurt, I'm screwed) RB: Staley WR: Pinkston, Hilliard, Santana Moss Also, anyone who wants to join a ClutchCity Yahoo NFL Pick'em group I created one under ID 25971. Password is fomfotable.
1. LT 2. Harrison 3. C. Dillon 4. Culpepper 5. Brooks 6. Hambrick 7. C. Johnson 8. D. Jackson 9. J. Reed 10. Vanderjagt 11. R. McMichael 12. D Bates 13. A. Smith 14. P Ramsey 15-18 Defensive players (we didnt use defense) J. Taylor, D. Freeney, J Sharper, M. Coleman 19. A. Johnson
Okay, rate my team. I am playing in a 12 man league with 14 roster spots (CBS Sportsline). We just had our draft this weekend, and somehow the CPU screwed up and let me pick up a crapload of players off waivers. I chose a lot of waiver options since 6 other teams chose before me. Somehow, the CPU let me claim EVERYONE, so I now have a roster of 8 starters and 21 reserves. Here are the 8 starters that I know I will be keeping: QB: D. Culpepper (Min) RB: S. Davis (Car) RB: C. Dillon (Cin) WR: I. Bruce (Stl) WR: K. Robinson (Sea) TE: S. Sharpe (Den) K: R. Longwell (GB) DST: Patriots Here are the back-ups that I know I will be keeping: QB: J. Plummer (Den) RB: M. Williams (Min) WR: J. Porter (Oak) That leaves me with three additional players to select from: QB: K. Holcombe (Cle) QB: D. Johnson (Atl) QB: J. Kitna (Cin) QB: V. Testevarde (NYJ) QB: J. Delhomme (Car) WR: M. Boerigter (KC) WR: J. Reed (Buf) WR: R. Ferguson (GB) WR: W. Chrebet (NYJ) WR: R. Wayne (Ind) WR: P. Warrick (Cin) WR: S. Moss (NYJ) WR: D. Branch (NE) RB: L. Jordan (NYJ) RB: D. Foster (Car) RB: L. Toefield (Jax) DST: Giants I thought about stacking up on QB's since they get hurt so much (mabye going with Holcombe & Johnson). I can sit them on my bench and trade them later. One guy has Maddox & Collins as his QB's. Another guy has J. Harrington as his back-up QB behind T. Green (he also has C. Martin as his backup RB behind A. Green & C. Portis). Another guy let the CPU draft for him and picked up Pennington as his back-up QB (Gannon is the starter). I also thought about stacking up on WR's. However, the ones sitting on my bench aren't that much better than the ones that are free agents (plus I will have to cut some of these guys), so I don't think they are great bargaining chips like the QB's (as far as future trades go). I was thinking about cutting the RB's since they all need someone to get hurt to warrant a roster spot. Plus, M. Williams supposedely gets a lot of TD's. My early opinion is to keep Holcombe (QB), Johnson (QB) and another WR (Reed, Boeritger or Ferguson). Thoughts???
Need advice, 10 team league, H2H Starters QB- McNabb RB- George RB- R Williams WR- L Coles WR- J Porter WR- K Johnson TE- Gonzales K- J Reed DEF- Pitt Reserves QB- T Green RB- M Shipp RB- D Staley WR- T Dwight WR- J Reed TE- F Jones Not sure if Reed and Dwight are even worth keeping, same if Duce and Shipp don't start.
These guys will definitely get picked up from waivers: QB: K. Holcombe (Cle) QB: D. Johnson (Atl) WR: M. Boerigter (KC) WR: J. Reed (Buf) WR: R. Ferguson (GB) I'm with you on Holcombe and Boerigter (Gonzales will miss a few games). Reed may lose some value because of Shaw. GBay's line is starting to be a concern, so hoping 3 wr's get decent touches might be a reach. The big question is Johnson, he may defer TD's to the RB's and won't play the full season. How well do you know the other owners? Do you think they are active traders or easily fleeced? Is there a team with too many RB's and no quality QB's/WR's? Me, personally, if I knew it would be hard to get more quality RB's, I would just keep Toefield (Jax). (Everyone will focus on the run while J.Smith is out; Taylor won't last.)
