Angle was arrested about 7:50 a.m. Saturday in a Robinson Township strip mall parking lot. His girlfriend, who said she obtained a protection order about 1 1/2 hours earlier after the two fought Friday night, alleged that he had circled the lot staring at her as she sat in a coffee shop, according to a police affidavit. Police said they found the human growth hormone Hygetropin in Angle’s car, and the wrestler told them he had a prescription for the drug. He also told officers he had not seen the woman and was looking for a hotel because he was barred from his home. Angle, 40, was charged with violating the order of protection, harassment, possession of drugs and paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. He posted bail and is scheduled to appear for a hearing Tuesday on the drug and harassment charges and Wednesday on the charge of violating the protection order, a court clerk said. Angle’s attorney, Michael Santicola, said Sunday night that there appears to be no cooperating evidence for the protection order. He said Angle stopped at the coffee shop on his way to a hotel and the woman happened to be there. Angle, the current heavyweight champion of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, was scheduled to appear in a TNA Wrestling event Sunday night in Orlando, Fla. Steven Godfrey, spokesman for Nashville, Tenn.-based TNA Wrestling, declined to comment on the arrest but said the main event between Angle, Sting and “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan would go on as scheduled. Godfrey also said TNA has a drug policy in place for staff and performers, but he declined to release the details. Angle is a two-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion at Clarion University in western Pennsylvania. He won the 220-pound championship at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, defeating Iran’s Abbas Jadidi for the gold medal, and has been a professional wrestler since 1998. In September, Angle was found not guilty of drunken driving in Moon Township outside Pittsburgh. A motorist told police Angle had cut her off while leaving a bar parking lot.
Sing the lyrics to his song. starts at about 10 seconds into the video It goes like this You suck! You Suck! You Suck! You Suck! You Suck! You Suck! You Suck! You Suck!
Oh, it wouldnt shock me if he was the next wrestler to die from homicide, suicide, or drugs. Dude is a talented entertainer, but he has some issues. That's why the WWE had no problems letting him go to TNA.
Never heard of the guy. Sounds like a country singer. Or at least a sideliner. So he had HGH and drove around in a parking lot? Whats the punishment on that? $50 fine?
From pics I've seen of him in the past, his head looked like it was going to explode. I guess that may have been the first clue.
He was driving with a license that had been suspended for DUI. In the state he lives in, that alone comes with a 60 day mandatory jail term. Add to that violation of a protective order and he could see some real jail time. His legal problems at this point are very, very real.
It's one thing when there is a question about individuals like in baseball or football. I just assume all pro wrestlers juice and all cyclists blood dope. It's not like there is a legitimate competition to have its integrity compromised...in wrestling's case anyway.
True...but in wrestling there has been such a high incidence of early death that there is a real initiative to make sure they are clean.
Not that I have heard, but we really do not know much about the long term effects. The common thought is that using HGH can cause highly increased risk of heart disease and heart attack at a very early age (in their 40s). The more we learn, the more we figure out that taking this stuff artificially is really not good for you.
Pretty much. I see Angle from time to time and he's absolutely unmistakable for all the wrong reasons. The word around these parts is the DUI he got out of was very suspicious so maybe he had some karma coming his way with this latest arrest.
I thought it was pretty much common knowledge that ALL pro wrestlers juiced up with one thing or another. Those guys take a beating on a regular basis and don't have time to naturally recover.
