So how does that change the draft? I just heard it on Espnews!!!! So Toronto got their center, i think they will look for a scorer and they will pick Morrison. Stache is going to be #1 pick!!! book it! Gonna go and change my mock draft.

I'll go out on a limb and say that rules out Aldridge for them.

Well this probably means that they aren't going to draft Aldridge. He was a guy that could have played C for them or would have moved Bosh to the center position. Seems like this solidifies their PF/C combination with Bosh and Rasho. So this tells me that they're going with Bargnani or a wing player like Gay, Stache or Roy.

My guess is that Bargnani is their man.

It does kind of change it. Now Toronto will be looking for scorer and Morrison is a dam good scorer. That can also mean MJ might not be in Toronto plans. ;)

    1. Morrison
    2. Aldridge
    3. Gay
    4. Roy

So that trade in my opinion makes the top 3 wing players go in top 4. This deal might push down Bargnani to us.

    (starting point), A.Williams, Calderon
    MoPete, Graham, *
    CharlieV, Barganani, *
    Bosh, Humphries, *
    Nesto, Whaley

With so many players who can cover multiple postions their primary need would be a starting PG in free agency if they do draft Bargnani.

    Isn't CharlieV more of 4 than a 3?

i would hope colangelo is smarter than thinking that rasho is a quality starting center, even though he wasn't very productive alongside duncan. but who really knows. i don't think they will talk lamarcus, i think they like morrison and bargnani better even though they already have bosh and villanueva who play the forwards.

Makes a little bit of sense.

Just like the Utah Jazz have to overpay white guys (with the exception of Boozer, so generalities don't always work), it doesn't hurt the Raptors to look for Euros. Euros wouldn't arrive in Toronto, look around, and say, "F*** this, I don't speak Canadian, and I ain't gonna learn" etc.

Although I guess Magloire's going elsewhere.

And it surprises me that anyone would go after Nesterovic, at that salary.

Supposedly Colangelo's plan is to start picking up foreign players, because USA born players hate the high taxes and such. If that's the plan, Bargnani is their pick but I'll be shocked if it isn't Aldridge because that's the guy Bosh wants. I know they'll do what they feel is best for the team, but you have to think if it's even close to a toss up they've got to go with Bosh's buddy because it helps their chances of re-signing him.

Toronto now needs a true PG to make this all work -- Bosh at PF, Nesterovic at C and Villanueva and Graham at SF, Peterson at SG and who (Marcus Williams?) at PG?

If they think Bargnani can play SF, then that makes Charlie or Joey expendable. I don't see how Aldridge works in there unless they think Rasho will be the (very expensive) backup.

Morrison makes a third SF so I doubt he is in the mix unless there is another trade in the works. A trade with Portland -- who wants Morrison -- makes sense because Colangelo can grab Marcus Williams at #4 as well as Steve Blake for PG backup and perhaps the #30 or #31 for depth.

charlie V is 6'11. hes not really a SF. bargnani is 7'0, he's more of a PF as well.

i see thier roster like this:

    bosh-rasho
    charlie-humpries
    graham
    mopete
    calderon

if anything, at this point, they need help at the 2/3.

I think they go with stache.

With Bosh, Rasho and Villanueva already on the roster, the Raptors need a PG and a swingman. I don't see where Bargnani fits in at all unless they plan on trading Villanueva (as has been rumored). If the Raptors don't take him this doesn't mean Bargnani will fall to #8. Forget about it.

I'm thinking the Raptors are definitely going to trade down.

I think this means they are taking Bargnani. I am going to have to adjust my Mock Draft.

I see Charlie V being expendible, trade bait for a PG.

There also has been talk of the Raptors trading out of the #1 spot to get to the #3 spot with the Bobcats and the compensation would be Brevin Knight. Right there the Bobcats get a guy at #3 + their PG in Knight.

Deuce -- wouldn't Toronto be better off with the #4 from Portland and change.

Colangelo is known to drive a hard bargain, and I think he could pick up Bargnani at #4 and extract a PG (Jarrett Jack or Steve Blake) plus a #30 or #31 for depth from Portland. Even if affairs went horribly wrong, he still gets one of fhree other players who can help (Aldridge, Morrison or Marcus Williams).

Either Charlie V or Joey Graham (or both) then become trade bait.

That is a LONG frontline and each one of those guys has range on their shot. You throw 6'8" Mo Pete at the 2 and we are still talking LONG.

All they need now is a PG that is a "set up man".

I think the Nestarovich move almost solidifies Morrison going #1. Six or seven teams are trying to trade up and get him. He is the hot commodity in the draft right now. Toronto can always get a point guard through a trade or free agency.
Could we as rocket fan's potentially see a Yao, Bargnani, T-Mac frontline. Who knows what the rockets are going to do. This draft could go in a hundred different directions. It's almost next to impossible to predict.
