Well... I didn't actually see him but I got a call from my brother at lunch and he is like "Hey Rashard Lewis was at Whataburger today" (no I didn't ask which one and no he didn't eat while he was there). Said when he was leaving one of the guys in their group (after my brother pointed him out) asked "You play for the Sonics?" Rashard smiling "Yeah." Other guy "So when you coming to Houston?" Rashard "Man, Houston ain't ready for me yet." (smiling and shaking his head). Take for it's worth, I thought it was intresting, thought I would share. Not quite sure what to make of his comment? hmmm..... I doubt realistically we have a chance at him anyhow but, hey if anyone would take a discount might be him.
Next!!! dude just dosent get it... going into his 10th year in the NBA sounds like he still is all about the money anyways... win a championship seems secondary to him...

why would he be flamed? THis gives insight on R. Lewis' possibility of being a houston rocket...which, based on the convo, is now officially zero. although 'houston ain't ready for him yet' might mean he'l sign up with us once he's 34 years old with a overbloated contract desperately wanting a championship
Well, to throw another possibility out there, you guys have to have a small understanding of ebonics/modern phrases. In the basketball sense, when someone says, "You ain't ready for me yet", that means "You have no idea how good a player I am and I'm going to beat you easily on the court". In other words, Rashard could be saying, "Houston has no idea how great it will be once I'm here." Just throwing that out there as a possibility because that is how I took it.
Are you guys seriously trying to translate this to meaning something? What he said will have absolutely NO bearing on what he has decided or what he will decide to do.
I saw Rashard tonight at BJ's in Sugarland! He was there with either his wife or girlfriend who is pregnant. I didn't get to talk to him cause he left before I did plus I didn't really wanna bother him. Too bad I didn't get to talk to him since I was wearing a Rockets Live It t-shirt at the time too. Sorry the pics are pretty bad quality, it was pretty poor lighting plus it was on my cell phone. I had my waiter confirm with the waiter that was serving Rashard that it was him.
ummm "___ aint ready for me yet" basically means you're saying you're good and maybe even too good. i'm not sure how in the world you guys are interpreting him as saying he doesn't want to come to houston...
That sounded like he still have grudges against houston..., or just cocky and having a little fun.. its just a little comment. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm pretty sure he loves Houston, but it sounds like he doesn't mind living in Seattle for awhile.. just my opinion.
Don't no how true it is, but I no somebody that went to Elsik with him and said that New York is the front runner, followed by Los Angeles Lakers.
