Rashard Lewis is in my shop right now, looking over his BMW 745. Very nice car. I've actually worked on TMac's car once, and now I see RL's car. Both of them are bling bling 7 series.

I know now that I need to bring my camera to work.

Momentum BMW, on the Southwest Freeway is the place, btw.

RL comes by the shop occassionally, but TMAC has a private party handle his car for him.

RL was in the shop sitting in his car in the passenger seat, while some tech's were working on his door....
I didn't bother him, since he was on the phone the whole time. His car is a dark green, with tint on even the windshield.

It is against the law. I'm not positive on the tint, but I know I couldn't see inside very much from the front, inside the shop.
Next time I see the car, I'll get a closer look.

Hey TECH, got a question for you. I was looking at picking up a 745i a 2003 or 2004 model as I want to have a larger car.
But i've heard there are a great deal of maintenance issues with that model, especially the 2002. I know they implemented the I-drive, which adds componenets.

Another thing, do you know anthing about the reliability on Porsche 911 and 911 Turbos??

Well Khan Maybe I can help you a bit.

I dumped my 745 because of continous reliability issues. I picked up a Mercedes SLR McLaren, and Havent been happier.

I used to to own a Porsche 911 Turbo, but it was mighty plebian for a 100K plus car. And it was in the shop a mere 3 times in one year. Instead now I drive my Murcielago around and am much much much more pleased. I have been in the shop 5 times this year alone.

well hopefully this fall, or at least by NEXT fall, you will understand witty repartees and oozing sarcasm ... the dude was just joking ...

but good luck with med school, and if you have a good patient-doctor relationship you can start ur own clinical practice and afford any of the above mentioned cards...

thanks..i dont think my future wife would appreciate me spending so much on cars anyway...i was thinking like a 40K car for everyday use Acura TL or RL if i can afford..and like a 80-100K car for weekend use like a porsche 911, BMW M6, Mercedes CLS 55. but of course by the time i'll be making good money, there will be different cars out..maybe most of which will be hybrids or some fuel cell technology (hydrogen) cars

2002 was the first year, and there were a lot of electrical problems, mainly software issues that caused quirks in a lot of the systems.
I'd get a 2003 or newer, if you were to get one.
The cars are fairly reliable, but repairs are expensive. Parts are high. There are a lot of bells and whistles, which adds to the potential problem list.
The I-Drive eliminates a dash full of buttons, and it is quite nice once you get used to it.
All BMW's have good brakes, but they wear out quick, and cost a lot too....think about 25k for front pads and rotors on the 7 if you are lucky, and about 500 bucks to replace just the front.

But of course, if you know someone who can do the work on the side........ ;)
