Who would you rather have on this team next year? Obviously Rashard is the more athleticaly gifted player of the two. But Austin Croshere provides us with a hard worker who can score and rebound well and play both PF and SF.

If it was up to me, I'd take Rashard Lewis for the following reasons:
    1) More Athletic, fits well with our running game
    2) From Houston, forming some sort of loyalty
    3) Younger, still has plenty of time to develop

On the other hand Austin Croshere:
    1) Ability to play 3 and 4
    2) Better defensive player
    3) Can set picks for our guards
    4) When playing the 4 can take his man out on the perimeter

Actually now that I think about, it seems like a much tougher choice than I imagined.

    What do you guys think?

Both are really really good, but I'd take Lewis. He has star potential to possibly be Stevie's sidekick, where as Croshere does not. Lewis also is more athletic, and more physically gifted. He gives us a guy who can match up against the Garnett's and Wallace's of the league. By the way, Lewis can play the 3 and 4 as well.

    Lewis for sure. It's a no-brainer.

I would take either one, they both would be a great FIT on the Rockets.

Croshere is more polished, but Lewis may have a higher ceiling.

HECK...give em both to the RockS !!

Rashard Lewis... I agree, easy answer. Croshere is a talented player, and could be a star, but Lewis is going to be something special.

I like Croshere for the here and now....but looking into the crystal ball, I might have to take Lewis.

Rashard a 4? I think he is too skinny to be able to play 4. Austin on the other hand has the body to bang with a majority of the fours in the league. Unless, Rashard beefs up, I can't imagine him playing the 4 position.

Rashard started a number of games this year at PF when Vin Baker was hurt. I remember his first game he started at PF he went up against Charles Oakley and Toronto, and scored 28 points and had 12 rebounds. He can handle it.

I think Baker was just benched not hurt.

I'll take whichever one takes the least amount of our cap room.

Actually this isn't true. Rashard has only started at SF and SG the past two years in Seattle. The times when Baker was out of the line-up, Seattle would throw Jelani McCoy or Greg Foster at center and move Horace Grant to PF or keep Grant at center and start Lazaro Borrell or Jelani McCoy at the PF.

On another note, Rashard Lewis held a press conference today and said that he likes Seattle and is leaning towards sigining there. He is however is keeping his options open. Rashard is in Seattle practicing for the Sonics summer league team. He is expected to get time a PG during the summer to work on his ball handling skills.

Basically we are not going to land Lewis or Croshere, their values are both much too high.

Tough decision... But, I think that I would lean towards Croshere because we are in DESPERATE need of someone with a lot of hustle and will do a lot of the dirty work. Utlimately, regardless if we got Croshere or Lewis I would be happy either way. They both would fit perfectly with us.
