Anyone think CD is having regrets about the one that got away? Seemed like Lewis got up to play against his hometowm team.

Rashard was a second round pick.... there are a lot of GMs that let him get away.

Three draft picks with one going to Bryce Drew. That's understandable. He looked like a better version of Matt Maloney in college. Michael Dickerson was another one. The guy played for the Arizona Wildcat championship team. It's a good pick. The next pick is one which goes down as the worst draft pick in Rockets history. Rudy and CD tried to go euro when they had a special talent right in their backyard. I think that along with the contracts of Moochie and Maurice was a reason for Rudy getting canned.

It's a big difference with Rashard getting passed over by the Rockets. The kid is from freaking Houston of all cities. He was supposed to be a top 10 talent according to many draft boards, and the Rockets had 3 1st round draft picks to burn. It was a slamdunk pick that ultimately was one of the daggers in Rudy T's final years with the team.

Lewis usually gets up to play the Rockets...although tonight's performance seems about on par with what he has done the rest of this season against other teams. Maybe he is finally forgetting the draft day crap.

Whoop dee freaking doo. The fact that he is from Houston means absolutely nothing. Should we have drated him? Yes. Shoud over a dozen other teams drafted him before Seattle? Yes. Does that mean that just because the kid is from Houston, we should have drafted him? No.

Not drafting him is one thing, passing him up for the ever improving Eddie Griffin is another altogether.

But he was the hometown boy, if anyone the Rockets shoulda scouted him the best. AND he wanted to play for the Rockets and claims Rocket management committed to him. How many nba players TODAY would actually want to play for the Rockets?

Considering recent players drafted by Houston, only Cat and Yao is proved to be worthwhile. Our CD just don't know how to build a team.

In terms of leading the team to the playoff, I don't think so.

and that matters because. Francis never played for the grizleys. he was trade on draft night.
dickerson was a verry good player. (to bad for his injury).

I have been saying this for a while. Our draft picks are dismal. We can pick the right guy if he is one of the top 5 talent. But nearly every GM in the league knows how to pick if you have the #1 or #2 picks.

Rox is very bad in picking players who are in the mid 1st round or 2nd round. The contract extensions on Cato, MoT, Moochie also were bad. CD has to do a better job in the future.

Except for the trade that brought Francis and our luck in landing the #1 pick last year for Yao. Our draft picks have been nothing.

CD and Rudy have done exactly the same thing as Orlando's GM. Nothing from the draft department. You can cancel Mike Miller out with Cat. We got 0 talent from our draft picks. Our bench is very weak partially due to our draft picks.

But we have the luck with the #1 pick last year.
