hmm.. nice trade.. who is the other guy involved.. never heard of him before.. and raptors dismantling ?
Well, they both expire in 2011, so they don't get a contract off the books sooner, but they do pay $1.5 million less in salary per year. Looks like Toronto just wanted the $$ savings for something else... like re-signing Marion or something. I'm guessing though.
Whenever I think of Reggie Evans, the first thing that always comes to my mind is this: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lxEgKsyFCIw&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lxEgKsyFCIw&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
LOL at "The 6-8 Kapono..shot only 42 per cent from three-point range last season" What were they expecting? 75%?
I didn't know teams could trade while the season was still going on. Does that mean technically Lebron could be traded for Wade before there's an NBA champion?
I'd suspect addition by subtraction mostly. Kopono didn't fit. And Reggie can shoot more poorly than Chuck Hayes, but is a role filler. Philly wins this IMHO; but it ainta home run by any stretch.
Kapono is a good 3-point shooter, but he doesn't shoot enough of them. I don't understand why a majority of his shots aren't 3s. And Evans is arguably the league's best rebounder since Dennis Rodman. A good addition for a truly mediocre rebounding team like the Raptors.
Two mediocre-at-best players switching places. Kapono's 3-point shooting fills a need with the Sixers while Evans brings toughness to the soft Barney's. I agree with the comment asking why the Sixers ever traded Kyle Korver.
This is making up for the fact that they never should have traded Korver in the first place. Philly is going to be a pretty solid team next year if Brand can come back 100% healthy.
