I guess we'll all have to wait till next year for him to show us he is on Durant's level. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/9091507/toronto-raptors-likely-discuss-shutting-rudy-gay-down
This is why I want the Rockets to make the playoffs this year. If we are to lose a pick from the T-Will trade, at least make sure it's on a crap year like this one.

The article says 40% from the field 74% from the line. Anybody notice how quick the Rudy Gay support has gone down? I mean, before this year a lot of people considered him almost Lebron-KD like (ik this is joked about a lot on here) but at the very least people were drooling over his jump-shot form.
I'm pretty sure nobody here (maybe a very small number of people) puts Rudy Gay on the same tier or even a tier below Lebron and KD. The praises for Rudy Gay are often sarcasm mocking a notorious Grizzlies poster who once made the claim that Gay is as good as Durant.
True. But idk, wasn't he on the Olympic team? Lebron-KD was an exaggeration. I feel like he went from being considered a borderline star (around top 15) to a mediocre, way overrated player (think Brandon Jennings). I seem to remember some posts about people being very upset about us trading Gay for Battier, but now thats pretty much non-existant Honest question; would you rather have Parsons or Gay? It seems like most people on here (including myself) would probably pick Parsons.
Parsons, and it's really not even close. Parsons puts up better production that Gay, at a far far far FAR cheaper contract, and a lot more efficiently. He also does not dominate the ball which means he can co-exist with a superstar. Even if Rudy Gay had a cheap contract, his best value would be off the bench because he has never been an off-ball player. He has insane usage rate for a player who is so inefficient, so it's questionable whether he can co-exist with another ball dominant player who is an actual superstar.
If Gay drove to the basket more instead of shooting mid range jumpers, he would be an all-star easily.
