The "Gangsta Rap" genre as a whole is dead. Instead of talking about gats, 45's, sawed offs, etc, the new stuff talks about spinners, Cristal, or some gimmicky dance like Soulja Boy or the Nolia Clap. Think back to the mid 90's. You had some kickass stuff:

lol I can't see a single hip hop video on youtube without it mentioning how current rap isnt no good, arguing who's the best rapper in "the game" today or ever, or rap in the 90's before puff daddy was the golden years of rap

 

I dont know why either. Maybe cuz they think their video's not copyright protected but I thought the whole point was to have them viewable by anyone?

You can technically still embed the video, but itd normally be too much work for people to do.

95-00 was IMO the best for many of the elite individual rappers including Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Nas, and the not as well recognized Big L and Big Punisher. The first album by all 5 artists are some of the best in the history of hip hop. I'm not saying from 95-00 was the best period of Rap music, but it was the period in which these rappers put down some classics.
