http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/news/story?id=3119581 Never knew the kid was actually good at basketball, just thought he was another rapper who daydreams of the nba. USC has become a legit team these days so he gotta be good.
Just because USC signed him doesn't mean he is actually good at basketball. Kind of like when the Raptors signed Master P. 13.9pts isn't that special and 5.6 apg is probably exaggerated, trust me I am an Aggie. I know all about inflated assists But I do agree about USC. If Mayo stays they will be a top 5 team next year.
more a 3 star prospect than a 5, but thats still darn good considering.... here's a highlight video of him in some camp http://uschoops.tv/video/romeotv.html
he's saying all the right things, but still, does he really need a scholarship. Michael Jordan's son is a walk on at Illinois. they didn't offer him a scholarship because...frankly, he can afford it.
I think it's mildly humorous that he says he is proving to kids that it's not all about money..... How can you say that when you already have MONEY? I digress.

Man goign by those videos he is way smaller than 5-11. He looked like a little kid out there. Id give him like 5-8 maybe 5-9, and that i stretching it.
Well, big difference from the Master P situation because the NBA is all about money. USC has a pretty good program so I'm sure they signed him because they actually felt he could contribute. Not saying he's going to be a stud or anything but USC doesn't sign just anybody.
he committed last year i think..........verbally at least.........he's better than lil bow wow though
that Bow Wow, dont know if you've watched any of the AND 1 streetball episodes, but Chris Brown can ball
It also doesn't hurt publicity and future recruiting. Right now, on the USC basketball team, you have multiple "in's" to NBA with Tim Floyd and Dunleavy's son, now you have an "in" to Hollywood/Las Vegas with Lil'Romeo. Those are not always guaranteed as a D-I player, and they are certainly not unique to this program, but they are much more visible.
