Okay this has been bothering me today.

There are so many posters on this board who don't know how to type in correct English that it's amazing any non-English speaking people ever learn our language through message boards.

I know that a lot of Chinese speaking people visit here and it just irks me to no end that they see posts like this...

    Fixed...

I feel like a freaking first grade teacher reading some of this crap.

    /rant

    I feel much better.

"lack of caps" doesn't irritate me in small posts.

But if something is more than four lines, you better be using punctuation and capital letters.

That post is nothing compared to the people who post like they're texting. I'm not going to be the grammer police like swoly-d but at least TRY to make a post that is readable to those of us over the age of 15.

For instance, it's "because" not "cus"...

I don't have problem with posters who can't write in perfect grammar. My own grammar is not perfect either.

That said, I do have problem with the ones who try to mock the foreign posters' grammar when their own posts also have grammatical mistakes. They just make themselves look very stupid.

I whole-heartedly, TOTALLY, agree with you, Hayesfan, and I admit you've caught me writing some slang.

Translation: "I am uneducated. Please let me know."

You're a ROCKETS' fan. I expect you to be educated. But if you want to show your education level, be my guest.

Yeah, it bugs me to not use punctuation/spelling/grammar right. I'm not saying I'm perfect by any means.

I see where you're coming from, but I don't feel like playing English teacher like you.

Most of the time I just ignore it, but if it's shoved in my face over and over again I can't help but take notice.

"Look, mister, there's... two kinds of dumb, uh... guy that gets naked and runs out in the snow and barks at the moon, and, uh, guy who does the same thing in my living room. First one don't matter, the second one you're kinda forced to deal with."

    Hayesfan,

If you keep whining & complaining about The Way Things Are on this BBS, there will never be a Moderator title next to your moniker.

my left pinky doesn't want to stretch over to hit the shift key.

i don't mind using my right pinky to hit enter to make a new line.

swoly, how the hell do you come to that conclusion that if you don't capitalize the first letter, you're a dumbass?

I totally understand where hayesfan is coming from. If you don't do a few things, such as caps, and grammer and crap like that, that's ok. However, when it's just straight up no attempt, then yeah, I totally see where she is coming from.

it's not the bad grammar or lack of capitalization that bothers me (guilty as charged), it's the poor spelling.

we're talking elementary level spelling, especially the word "lose" (loose, loosing, etc...)
