I've been with them for 6 years, and on 12/28/09 I paid my last payment to them. On 1/14/10 I canceled all my policies because I was offered a much lower premium from USAA (over 50% cheaper!). Anyways I've been waiting on my refund check for unused insurance for a month now and nothing has showed up in my mail box, so I just call them and they tell me I'm not DUE a refund!? Am I missing something of am I missing 14 days of paid, but unused insurance? (paid until 1/28/10, canceled 1/14/10... 14 days I did not use the insurane) This company is a POS. Does this make sense to you guys or am I just missing something or what?!
Let me get this straight...ToyCen428 asking US if something makes sense or not? To answer your question...the aliens took your refund and put it in WTC Building 7 after they went back in time, unfortunately the government blew up WTC7 and now your check is chillin out with Tupac and the Loch Ness monster on this resort in Atlantis.
Might be something in the terms of the agreement that stated that they don't refund partial months- if you were covered by the insurance for a day in January, you might be liable to pay the whole month. Not sure, just speculating.
On my policy I had 2 cars (one is brand new) and renters insurance.... I was being charged $127.... I was thinking more like $58 or something.
Plus some poeple like to get what is due to them and not get f-ed over by companies that are always looking to screw everybody...
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to GRENDAL again. Someone PLEASE rep this man for the "They Live" reference
State Farm is an anagram for Frame Stat. Obviously, the government is framing you by making you just another statistical victim of insurance companies.
There's some law in Texas that states when the customer cancels the policy, they are allowed a pro-rated refund minus any commission expenses and crap like that. Basically, you'd get half your money back only if They canceled your policy halfway through what you paid. Since it is you who canceled, then you get half back, minus fees. I'm guessing State Farm is saying "fees" is the rest of it.
did you cancel in writing to them on that date or did you just change carriers? Most insurance companies require written notice of cancellation...just moving to a different carrier won't cancel your old policy
Seriously... when I saw the title... I thought there was gonna be a big deal where someone got wronged by the bully insurance companies. This is not rant worthy. Minor complaint if someone else brought Insurance or State Farm up with a real issue? sure... but this on it's own can't even be a conspiracy to you.... much less anyone else. If you're saving 50% by switching, call that $40+ the fee for figuring it out and move on. Some people actually have real and widespread issues with insurance companies and I doubt they'd include you in their ranks.
I had Farmer's for 2 years before I canceled them. After Ike they took forever to process my claim and they weren't good at communicating what process I should for fixing my house. I had enough when someone calls me and looses their cool b/c i used a different contractor then the one i had submitted estimates for. I now have Amica and they are 20% cheaper than Farmer's. (house, flood insurance, 2 cars)
Why the hell would anyone eligible for USAA, use another carrier in the first place? USAA is awesome.
