[RANT] MLB, FOX, Chevrolet & "This is our country..."

That commercial cracks me up. Nothing makes me want to buy a (actually, another) Chevy truck more than images of Rosa Parks, the WTC memorial, and flooded New Orleans.

 

Still better than "TRUCKS TRUCKS TRUCKS TRUCKS" (repeat x 5), which would sometimes play TWICE during the SAME commercial break.

Ahhhh...memories of the glory years and Hakeem doing his "Bill Erd Chevrolet" commercials.

 

I loved the "Baseball, Hot dogs, Apple Pie, and Chevrolet" revival commercials that came out around the All-Star games.

God, that song is cheese with a capital C. It makes me cringe every time I hear it. Frakly, it was better when he wrote it the first time and called it "Pink Houses."

 

its all white folk too! why dont they show some dudes riding a dropped IMPALA and blasting John Cougar Mellencamp.

I am a die-hard Cardinal fan (I know, I know ... another reason to hate me), and have situated myself about an inch away from the TV for the duration of this amazing run. I have also watched the last 11 post season games (including the ESPN first-rounders) with the sound completely off. Now, two of those games were watched at parties, but the rest were in my completely silent living room.

It is SOOO nice.

 

You know, I was watching something on Espn about Latin Playersi in the MLB. Then suddenly that commercial came on and there were white people holding up flags and that guy singing "THISSS IS OURRR COUNTRY"

i thought it was funny.

Its not like if you click on it a bunch of gnomes are going to show up at your doorstep bearing fruit roll-ups.

One wonders if you understood it was a joke... Some have analyzed your post and have come to the conclusion that you did not know that. Some have countered this by saying it would be hard to discern what was serious or not when you arent familiar with the person making the statement, so you can't really cast judgment on the mistake made. However...

Is that a real spoiler? I thought it was a joke. It sounds stupid... I thought it would be something cooler, the way people are talking about it. The Jackman thing doesnt sound plausible, even for a movie.

 

Chevy makes cheap crap. If not for the Ford "Truth About Trucks" info-mercial, they would still have open beam construction in the frame... and they still have no steel in the front end of the truck. Yeah, that's safe.


Sure Chevy is cheaper, but there is a reason.

My Chevy Aveo (made by Daewoo) is better contructed than my Astro van was.

As soon as I can afford the trade, I'm headed to another make and model for my wife. My F-150 is the most solid truck I've ever owned personally... and then I remember in every fleet vehicle I'd ever driven in delivery work/contruction job, they were ALL Fords.

You may not like Toby "Boot in your [rump]" Kieth, but the truck is a good product.

And I agree with Jeff. Pink Houses was already recorded.
