so, today I get an email from Ticket-raper saying that the White Stripes are coming to Houston. There's a link to purchase tickets online. So I go to the link, tickets are $28 bucks, so I select one ticket and hit continue... there's a 1.50 Building Facility Charge and then, get this... there's a 7.50 Convenience Fee???!?!?!?!?

$7.50? What the hell is so convenient about $7.50?

    argh!! TICKETMASTER SUCKS!

I was thinking about going to that show as well rH. We'll have to meet up before the show if I do. Be sure to bring a print out of that Axl pic. :)

But I agree with outrageous markup on tickets. They've been doing that for awhile now. The first time was a couple yrs ago for a Tom Petty concert. I was pretty pissed myself. Everyone does this now.

    yeah, but 7.50?

Rockets tickets used to have about a $3 convenience fee... no telling what it will be at the new stadium!?

I think 7.50 is crazy... btw, i didn't buy a ticket nor did I pay the extra $9!!

Good for you! I hate ticketmaster as well.

And I am pretty sure that the stupid "convenience charge" is based on the price of the ticket itself.

When I bought a $10 Rockets tix, the charge was about $2.50. When I bought a $34 tix the charge was about $5.50 or something.

Why the hell would the "convenience charge" be based on the price of the tickets? Is it really that much more work to sell a higher price tix and that is the reason for the higher charge?

    $7.50 is nothing.

ticketbasterd charged me $9.50 convinence charge and $2.50 Building Facility Charge for lollapallooza this year. damn sleazy jerkoffs.

Since the Rockets will be handling ALL of the ticketing at the new arena, you won't have to worry about dealing with Ticketmaster or convenience fees for games. I'm not sure what they will do with concerts but I bet it won't be 7.50. This is one of the primary reasons they are going to this and a big reason why many facilities around the country are looking for alternatives to TM.

I am going to by some tix from ticketraper, or ticketass, or ticklenickle, or whatever you guys call it. I think my "convience" charge should be about 4.50.

Welllll, welll, well, nothing like quoting myself, and calling me a pimp of a guy.

TicketMaster raped me up the ass, and in the pocket book.

Anyhoo, I bought some tickets off of ticket master's website this morning. The tickets I bought are $51.35. I bought three of them so that should add up to $154.05. But my bill is $185.35.

$31.30 is the damn convience charge. Not exactly the 4.50 convience charge I had going. More like $8.45.

Whatever Happen to Rainbow? Weren't they a ticket distributor a few years ago?

Ha, Kam u going to Bad Blood too??? :D

    Here is my damage:

First off they charge $8.75 for each ticket, plus another $3.85 for processing charge, and then $3.50 for tax. So what shouldve cost $256.75 ($51.35 x 5) came out to a grand total of $306.35 with all of the charges included.

Ticketmaster blows. I wouldved gotten tixs at the Box Office at the CC, but they dont sell tixs till like Tues, and the good seats would be all gone.

I was going to have to use them today for Poison tickets, but my friend came through with free tickets right in front of the stage, with supposed access to a free bar. I wasn't aware there was a bar at Cynthia-Woods. Can anyone confirm this?

Ticketmaster hit me up for $15 worth of convenience charges this morning when I bought tix for Bad Blood (Section 122).

yeah they suck, but its not going to keep me from seeing Jane's again.......

However I recall paying $6 CASH at the door of Numbers for Janes Addiction in 1989. $12 for me and my girlfriend Tracy. We stood right up against the stage during the whole show. Compare that to the $122 I just paid for two Lollapallooza tickets, which I will be standing in the lawn very far away.

    Grrrrrrrr...
