Buck Turgidson, RocketmanTex and I have floated around an idea of getting together for one of the games the weekend of the 27th-29th. I don't know if this will involve actually going to the game or just meeting somewhere to watch one or two of them. I'd probably prefer the latter since it'll give us all a good chance to shoot the **** over non-$5 beers somewhere, whereas trying to organize getting tickets, etc. Who's down and share your opinions on what you would prefer to do! Go Astros!
Is it in Houston or Arlington that weekend? Oh and I vote for actually going to the game. Cheap seats in the outfield.
I will be there if I have no baseball or basketball games interferring. I'll know more tomorrow, meanwhile, y'all pick a date.
I say we have it at one of Houston's finer beer joints. Kay's Lounge (Especially for you Buck) Little Woodrow's (on West Alabama or in the Village) BW3 (in the Village) Champ's Americana (Uptown Park....went here for the first time last Friday night...good food, good scene). Any other suggestions????
I'm in. I may be getting 2 seats behind home plate for the game on the 27th from a buddy of mine who works with the Astros, so if we can make it that night (the friday), that would be terrific... but I can do saturday too,,but not sunday
The game on Saturday 6/28 has a 3:05 PM start....that might be a good one for a get-together...we can start draining the buckets of longnecks and get all shnizzly fo-fizzly in mid-afternoon.
I like it. If we're drinking afternoon style, patios are nice. The Woodrow's on Bama would get my vote I guess, but I'm flexible.
Plus there is Mission Burritos next door in case anyone needs to chow down on some beer sponges. If the weather is nice, the patio should be filled with sweet young thangs. Methinks we have a winner......
Then it is settled. Saturday June 28th @ Little Woodrow's on West Alabama between Kirby and Greenbriar. Gathering time is 3PM. Somebody remember to bump this thread a week from today!!!
I was going to go until I just heard that it's supposed to get up into the 100s here this weekend. I'll take the air conditioned sports bar, thank you very much.
Those sure are some personal questions. Actually, I have one game in the right field home run porch ($20), one in the lower part of the upper deck along first base ($15), and one in the upper deck along third base (free).
I'll probably show up. God knows the singles scene SUCKS in Austin. That is unless you are a UT student between the ages of 18-23. After that...... its sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiim pickins. Forbes magazine is a joke.... Theres my new sig
