It's a new season for bulking up and trimming down the roster. At this point with Sean Williams possibly available, let's go for: Congratulations on a successful trade.. . New Jersey Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: +2.0 ppg, -2.5 rpg, and +1.5 apg. Incoming Players Luther Head 6-3 PG / SG from Illinois 7.6 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 1.9 apg in 18.9 minutes Outgoing Players Chris Douglas-Roberts 6-6 SG from Memphis Sean Williams 6-10 PF from Boston College 5.6 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 0.4 apg in 17.5 minutes Houston Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: -2.0 ppg, +2.5 rpg, and -1.5 apg. Incoming Players Chris Douglas-Roberts Sean Williams New Jersey wants to trim its roster and its number of big men by one. We want to get rid of Luther. Works for me, although I believe the Nets would rather shed Ager rather than CDR. It didn't work on the trade checker though.
Any suggestions as to whom we could trade for Sean Williams. Williams would give us a tall PF who could serve as a backup C -- plus he is a Houstonian. I'd give up Head, Harris, Strawberry, Wafer and/or any combination of our other non-guaranteed contracts and/or overseas players that the Nets could trim from their roster.
Probably Head and Strawberry for Williams. Although, we can't trade Strawberry until the 25th of this month. Since we're over cap, we can't trade him in combination with other players until two months of his trade date, August 25, 2008.
Joke? Did u see CDR in the europe live thing? He was playing like Jordan. And I highly doubt if Nets would trade Sean Williams for Luther even if works.Sean Williams is full of potential, Head is full of bust.
I would think we would be looking for a legit PG instead of adding another Forward (although a little height would be nice)
Are we going to get another season of one-sided trades completely favoring Houston excused with OH MOREY IS A WIZARD HE CAN DO ANYTHING!!1 Howabout this, Head sucks so damn much, we would have to give 2 first rounders for any NBA trade including his name to be considered.
Last thing to do is to add additional PFs to the team. Heard from the radio talk on 97.5 in Houston, Morey would be looking for a legit PG until around all star break (if Francis is still unable to play) or Brook is not good enough. Also we still want to Deke on the team like P.J, Brown's deal.
What's Chuck Hayes's trade value? I think Hayes has the talent for it to be a reasonable trade but then Williams was a 17th pick from last year. Hayes for Williams. Rockets shed a few 100k. OR Head for Williams. They need a third PG and Head far better than anyone contending for that spot on their team right now. A third option guy for another 3rd option guy.
logic? trade a big for a big, don't trim the roster at all, save "a few 100k".. ?? (And trade away our best post defender)
There's no point in trading for another forward right now. Especially if we're giving up a guard for yet another PF. We've got a good combination of forwards and the coach knows exactly what each brings every game. Sean Williams is still very inconsistent.
Sean Williams was probably the lone bright spot for the Nets last year. Any trade suggestions offering the worst of our scrubs for him = EPIC FAIL. At the moment I can't think of a reliable PG that would be available either by trade or free agency outside Kirk Hinrich, and he's set to earn $10mil this season and still has 4yrs left. Not happening. Our best bet at a Nets big might be Josh Boone but not for the garbage we would offer. I been saying Joe Smith is our best bet. Head and Francis would match him perfectly or we could wait and see if he gets bought out like most 10+yr vets on 20 win teams.
I though it was from Jonathan Feigen of Chron.com on the Kevin Murphy's show. Jon's information is normally based on the rocket's resource, it was not pure made up.
nets have a very green frontcourt. maybe they bite over his experience and defense. the nets have 15 guaranteed contracts plus 3 non-guaranteed players. adelman has voiced his concern over the lack of size behind yao. hayes was out of the main rotation when scolandry was at it's peak last season. maybe williams could be the shotblocker swift was meant to be beside yao? Boone is an incumbent starter for the Nets. NJ media tend to write that Williams had a mixed year.
I've been trying to think of pgs that might be available to us in an okay trade. And I haven't really been able to come up with anything. We don't have our 1st rounder to work with so there's not that we can toss in ... I think the only deal that could maybe get done would be for some lesser known guy that doesn't get much burn and is on a cheap contract. Damned if I know who that might be but I but Morey has a spreadsheet of like 50 candidates to fill that role. I think the only way we could get a bigger name pg would be to toss in Battier. Would Heinrich + change be worth Battier + Landry? I don't think so ... Just random musings, nothing to get worked up about.
Anyone remember Barrera? He played for us in SL, and showed he is a good pg. Why didn't the rockets invite him to play in this preseason?
would anyone honestly want head in the NBA? I am proposing training him to Europe for a backup pg like the Argentinean dude!
