Is there a definitive list of who is actually on our team and at what salary? Do we know where we stand in regards to salary cap and luxury tax? Trade proposals will be difficult without some of this information being confirmed.
I will make a semi-serious/semi random trade suggestion. But, I would wait to see where Sengun is 4-6 weeks into the season after a camp with Ime. If Sengun has grown an inch and is better defensively and he has developed a passable 3-Ball, then you would probably ask for way more or don't trade him at all... Sengun for Nic Claxton straight up. Sengun for Walker Kessler + protected first. Both trades would balance the Rockets by trading offense for defense and both players are solidly within the Rocket's timeline for this young core. Ducks after posting /s
Did you watch the games against the Nets this past season? Claxton couldn’t guard Sengun for s***. Had him in a spin cycle all game and they had to switch out defenders.
Come on man, can we have some realistic trades here? No one would accept that offer from the Rockets. Ridiculous.
Yeah. But after watching Stone operate this summer, I have changed my expectations about what would constitute a “Good” deal.
Sengun/Eason/Nets picks and swaps, rockets 2027 unprotected pick for Joel Embid after he asks out. I personally wouldn't want this though. Just keep mr sengun and eason.
3 paths 1. Do nothing - 2. Long term fit move - Sengun, 2024 BKN 1st for Myles Turner 3. Short term fit move - Landale, Green + 2027 1st swap option for Capela at trade deadline Outside of that, move Tate for scraps, get rid of KPJ is he acts up
Don’t like the value returned in those trades at all… so those are probably what Stone would get. You left out the Rockets sending a gratuitous second round pick or three
The Rockets next major trade will be a tricky one and it will take time. They're clearly not ready to give up on Jabari and Green. Sengun wasn't going to be traded even if we got a DPOY candidate at C who can shoot and has championship experience. That leaves Brooks and FVV who will for sure be given a year before we consider trading them. Can't really replace Brooks with Jaylen Brown because you need one of your SG/SF to be a defender. Won't trade Green I don't think until they've actually seen him on a functional team with stable vets and role players. We can deal KPJ and/or Tate since those are more known commodities and playing backup roles, but how big an upgrade will you get at backup? I guess it's possible but don't see it happening soon. Have a feeling we're going with this squad until the trade deadline.
On October 27, 2012, the OKC Thunder traded James Harden and two other players to the Houston Rockets for a package that included Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, and two future first-round picks that became Steven Adams and Mitch McGary. We could trade some of our blossoming young talent for a promising future star. Or we might have enough hope in our guys to actually become that superstar. Personally I like our team moving forward and have enough hope in them to actually make some noise in the near future.
