Wow..we've really changed as a team. Watch us in the beginning of the year compared to now. I remember we had to rely on Tmac just going crazy taking whole teams on..and yeah it was amazing to see him take over games..like the Memphis game..there was a stretch where he was unstoppable shooting and dishing out assists...now we're more of a team..with great players with good roles..I love our team..it's quite complete..just needs a little bit more addition Hmm..I think Tmac has improved his shot. His attitude seems good right now. I think JVG and CD have done a great job. Yao has definitely progressed. I think Yao should work on agility..as well as power and low post and shooting and conditioning and well basically everything. I actually like Vin Baker on our team as an enforcer. And Wesley for Jimmy and Boki trade was a great trade. JJ seems like a hindrance now. I used to think he was our 3rd guy..but we'rem uch better without him...Suns are better with him.
not on the court..just in case some guy like Danny Fortson goes crazy on Yao..maybe Baker could come to the rescue. Just a random thought.. Isn't it nice to see consistency in shooting and everything else in veterans like Dikembe and Barry? We didn't have that before..maybe for other reasons.. Ryan Bowen really is a good defender/hustler I can't wait for Friday's game. Let's beat the Suns. I believe we can win the championship this season. It's not likely with teams like Suns and Spurs..but it's possible. I think the Sonics can beat us. I think the Rockets are better..but i think the Sonics could beat us. They have beaten us. First, never play Nick COllison. He hasn't done anything good when I've seen him against the Rockets. Post up Rashard Lewis if Tmac is on him. They should have more motion on offense..like off the ball screens for Allen and Ridnour..Radmanovic can just stand there and get ready to shoot or slash. They shoudl really try to run against us. Evans is good against us. James isn't really that great. They should get him more involved.
You know what MAN, I think we can too...if Yao steps up, we are unstoppable; just like we did tonight. He had an awesome block, big shots, free throws, and then our other superstar seals it off. Big, big win tonight. Lots of energy on the bench, this is definitely a close group of guys. That WILL help in the playoffs. During the last timeout, EVERYBODY was paying attention to the play, even BAKER. That shows everybody is on the same and its a good group of guys. We can win...the championship, but only with Yao
Geez, I think the hard thing is getting to the Finals. Once the Rockets make it there I like our chances. A Yao vs. Shaq; a McGrady vs. Wade; a Van Gundy vs. Van Gundy.........The marketing would be unbeleivable. But, I take the Rockets in 7 games. But, it would be one heck of a series.
Yeah definitely the road to finals will be the hardest part. I remember worrying about us not making the playoffs. I think we'll make it. I just don't know if we can beat the Sonics. Tonight was a great game..and I think we can beat anyone in the NBa..maybe not Spurs or Suns though..and they are who we're gonna most liekly play if we advance past the Sonics..our likely first round opponent. Then Miami..Wade cannot shoot consistently imo. So I think he's containable. Shaq and Mourning are quite a force inside though..and Damon Jones can shoot 3's all day but he's really not that good of a shooter imo. Well the shot doesn't look nice. I really hope we beat the Suns. The Rockets have a good future..dynasty development is in progress. We have become a team. Quite amazing
Another random thought: Tracy McGrady..is 90 rated in Nba Live 2005. I think he should be rated higher next year.
Just a random thought... Yao isn't that bad of a rebounder. The reason he looks bad (according to stats) is because Sura and Howard. They always take a few rebounds (at least 2-3 a game) away from Yao when Yao clearly has it secured. But then again you can't blame the tow, Yao's just too nice and willingly gives it up. He should be aggressive and just snatch it so people won't have an excuse to bash him after a great game with low rebounding.
Yeah Yao tipped one to Barry today. Yeah I think he's improved in rebounding. He secures rebounds rather well..he gets good position..I even saw him fouling to get a rebound. We actually do pretty good on rebounding..for an old, supposedly slow team..we hustle and get lots of 2nd chance opportunities imo. Guys like Ryan Bowen, Mutombo, Yao, James, Sura, Wesley, Barry..Tmac..they create action. Tmac stripped Radmanovic and Rashard several times. Wesley did the same to Allen. Bowen just cmae in and played great defense. We didn't give up many offensive rebounds today..on that last 3 by Rashard..James came to help and prevent penetration..but Yao was already there..so I don't think James should have went all the way there..and then Tmac just stood there and lost his guy..Rashard for time to shoot a 3. It is sorta hard to keep track fo players. Wesley did a great job containing RayAllen and staying in front of him the whole game. Btw..I just remembered how Mo and Nachbar used to draw a lot of charges. Also..rebounding is really an important aspect of the game. Offense, defense, and rebounding is involved in both.
Random thought #** Yao has a mean streak in him - he is just selfish with it that is why he does not like to give it out consistently. Common Yao, share some of that sweet mean-ness - Amare, Voskul and Hunter are asking for it.
