HOUSTON -- Gas prices skyrocketed in the Houston-area Wednesday, with some jumping to more than $3 a gallon, Local 2 reported.

A southwest Houston Randalls, located on West Bellfort at Kirkwood, listed a price of $3.31 Wednesday afternoon. Some customers said it was 80 cents lower a day earlier.

Dude, I just saw this at the Randall's on Fuqua when my friend and I went to get some Whataburger. Exactly $3.31!

I had to do a double take because we were just talking about how high gas jumped even since the daytime. It was 2.94 down the street and we thought that was high.

I was lucky enough to find a 2.69 pump today, but I don't think I'll be so lucky later on.

I think the gas stations don't really know what to do. Here at one corner, there are three gas stations. One has regular at $2.63, one has it at $2.73, and the other has it at $2.85. I filled up both my motorcycles tonight (at the $2.63 station of course), maybe I should do my car too?

Wow, I paid $2.83 today at a Chevron in the Royal Oaks area and I thought I got screwed. I normally put Super Unleaded in my car, but it was $3.08 so I went with the cheap stuff for once.

aah quit complainin'... in the ATL prices shot up to almost 8-9 bucks a gallon at some point yesterday. most ppl were sellin in the neighborhood of 3-5 bucks a gallon (i personally filled up at 4.20, they only had the most expensive gas left). theres a temp gas shortage here, something in the gulf got jacked up, and major pipeline to here shut off, so everyones going nuts. even this morning on my way to work the gas stations i drove by were closed. yesterday evening ppl were waiting an hour or 2 to get gas. and then again after the 10pm news everyone was out waitin to get gas, fillin up aux gas tanks, the whole bit.

I meant to fill up before I went to work Monday morning but forgot. Gas was at $2.50 at that point. When I got off of work eight hours later I filled up (luckily I was only down a 1/4 tank) at $2.53. Yesterday gas was up to $2.65. It was up to $2.89 by 6:30 yesterday evening...and I'm scared to think what it might be this morning.

I'm really glad that I have a very short drive to work and that my car gets good mileage...

If you have a Sam's card they generally always have the best price.

    (generally always?)
