RAM: How much better is independent memory compared to shared ones?

    well..for obvious reasons....shared memory is not only used to run your applications....but it also is used for your video memory..

    if you have a good video card with a large amount of DDR VRAM, you get great video performance without sucking up RAM that could be used to better run your apps.

    always always get mobos that dont have onboard video for that very reason.

    why do you ask?
    shopping for a new motherboard?
