The guy brings absolutely nothing to the table.

He can't shoot worth a lick.
He has a hard time getting Yao the ball.
He is not racking up assists.

Did I mention, he cant shoot worth a crap.

Lakers were leaving him wide open in the first half and he could not do jack. It almost reminds me of the 4 on 5 offense we used to play with Ryan Bowen.

Time to start Luther and Bonzi in the backcourt. I'm even ready to see Vspan or Lucas. At least these two have upside, and they can't really be worse then Rafer.

We lost the games due to missed free throws, but Rafer is defintiely the reason we lost the lead in the second. Teams just start laying off of him and sit in Yao's lap.

Gundy is doing a pretty good job this year ( ). But the longer he starts Rafer the longer we are going to suffer.

I don't exactly want to start a point guard trying to develop on a Championship Caliber Team.

Alston can't make shot and ft. Becoming a TO machine, i start hating the guy in the last several games. Trade him + bonzi + Juawan+ watever FOR A.I
Then we can have a ballhog, that would be nicely

He may think himself TMac II and jack up too many shoots with no other Rockets involved. That is a curse to this team as he shoots under 40% night in and night out.

May not bench him, but JVG should control his playing time and 3p shooting attemps.

Alston is a good ball handler but not a good penetrator or shooter, so he is definately not the answer to the PG on this team.

Rafer just needs to be more selective. He takes a lot of perimeter jumpers off the dribble -- I wonder what his percentage is on those?

He was shooting 37.4% before this game, and he had shot 8-16 from three in the previous three games. He was due for a stinker.

I agree with everything except I think hes a good entry passer to Yao. I've been against starting another guard in place of him but his shooting is starting to hurt the team. I really want Luther to start but not at the point. He's just to turnover prone for a starter and heavy minutes but I would be willing to give it a try. Another thing is that we would loose a scoring punch off the bench.

What frustrates me about Rafer is his inability to make 2 point shots. For a guard, he is one of the worst shooters I have ever seen from about 10 feet. He misses a ridiculous amount of layups as well. Makes nice moves and then misses the layup. I would think he should be good at penetration and layups from his playground days, but he seems completely incompetent around the rim.

i agree with Patience. you have to be able to shoot..
But I think Alston's a good player, distributor, role player.

JL3 never plays..if he were scouted and other teams planned how to handle his play, i think he wouldn't make as much of an impact.

maybe our whole gameplan was messed up because odom left.

emm i dont want bonzi running around guarding 2's because he is obviously not in shape for that......3 fouls in 5 minutes is evidence of that

You get it! Rafer's outside shooting was terrible tonight but that isn't the biggest problem. He is 37% shooting 2 pointers. If he could hit a layup or a teardrop Rafer would easily shoot 50% and be our 3rd scorer but he couldn't finish if his life depended on it. Tonight, his collar for 6 from long range killed us.

And you think Bonzi was a problem AI would be worst because we trade Tmac for him he would be considered the 1or2 option on the team but he wont be playing
