That steal and then 3 pointer in the 4th quarter was huge when the game was at 63-63. I am glad Rafer is back. FLAME ON~
In 2 weeks, these last 3 games will be forgotten, and each missed 3 by Rafer will be beaten to death.
I think Rafer is a below average NBA point guard... but the sad thing is he is the best the rockets can offer at the moment.
When Rafer is not in . . .T-Mac seems to just go through the motions Which is a truly truly sad testament T-mac came in tonite to make sure he secures Rafer's Job So . . .If that is how it is going to be. . . so be it WWWWOOOOOOO . . welcome back Rafer Please just do you . . so T-Mac can actually try .. . and not quit on the team Rocket River
it's cause when rafer is not in the game t-mac is the only guy that has a clue of what's going on, making him do EVERYTHING...find Yao, make plays for others, and then get the ball back with 4 seconds on the shotclock and shoot a desperation fadeaway. Rafer makes t-mac a scorer, right now his shot is bad, but when he shoots better the Rockets offense becomes a whole lot more deadly. I say we trade James for a pure PG, I wonder who we could get though..
Rafer may not be 'The Best Point Guard in the World' but I really think he gets a lot of unfair criticism.
I guess Darrell Armstrong "made" McGrady into what he was at Orlando? Does Derek Fisher or any point guard "make" Kobe what he is? Now, Rafer "makes" the team run a little better, and its nice to get the ball out of the main playmaker's hands, will definitely credit him with that asset. But the only thing I saw different when he was out was Francis was indecisively sucking and Rafer was decidely sucking.
I only appretiate Rafer because he's the only not terrible distributing point guard that we play. James and Francis are both scorers, and really 2s, are is Head. Of course we play better with Rafer than without him, because he's the only proven not terrible point guard on the team.
Thank you for making this thread. It was very much needed for a long long time. Rafer has just secured his job for the rest of the season (not that it was ever in jeopardy)
Rafer hit a big three when Detroit Tied. He played well, but I'm not convinced he is the answer at guard.
