I haven't been able to confirm this anywhere(and doubt it's true), but I heard on the radio here in Austin(102) this morning that Lebron James was considering skipping his senior year of high school and going to play in Italy who reportedly has offered him $6-9 million/yr.

If anyone can confirm this please post a link.

Absolutely nothing in the Akron newspaper this morning. Having watched him in the Ohio Div 2 Championship game loss, he could do it. He looked bored stiff. Played with very little passion and scored 31. A lot of people commented that he looked bored with the level of competition. Until they got beat by a good team in the finals, all of their games were 30-40 point blowouts. That gets old and really, next year would be more of the same with the exception of a few games in out of state tournaments. I have a hard time recommending a kid quit high school, but it would definitely be better for his game. He really isn't going to get better at this point, and probably would get some bad habits continually playing against a level of competition that doesn't provide a great challenge.

Most people with high school degrees don't earn $6 Million in a lifetime. He would be some kind of silly not to take it given what is being written about his boredom with the HS game etc.

If that sets a bad example for other HSers, then they are too stupid to make it in life anyway. There is nothing automatically noble about staying in school at any level and refusing BIG MONEY.

When someone offers you legitimate money for a legitimate skill... you take it.
