Move Tmac to the PG spot, and start Luther at the SG spot....let Luther guard the other team's PG on D, and hit those wide open 3s that Rafer is missing.

Tmac can run the point, and Luther can bring it up when there is no pressure.

Leave Brooks with the 2nd unit, and fit Rafer for some cement shoes and cement him to the bench.

    I don't know.....maybe too radical?

I love it. I am missing Luther's ability to hit the shot.

Rafer is not getting it done. And Barry/Brooks combo is deadly.

But realistically... I don't think coaches would do that. Steve Francis being Rafer out of the rotation has more chance than that.

Just give Brooks more minutes until he gets his shot back. I was yelling to see Brooks about 7 minutes into the 3rd quarter.

T-Mac is doubled in the backcourt, they cover the passing lane to Artest. The only guy open to receive the pass is Head. He catches the ball at halfcourt. That's too far to shoot from.

He has 2 options from here, pass or dribble. That's a no-win situation.

we are doing this already with Tmac as our PG, we just have someone else bringing the ball down the court for him.

we just need a better shooter than alston.

    Hey....

Sounds good to me....We have to try something...

Our biggest problem at this time is pg and Backup C.....

No way the Rockets can have Tracy play PG to start the game. It expends too much of his precious energy.

Nothing radical is needed. Adelman just needs to remove Rafer sooner and put in AB earlier. Last night, Rafer should have played 18 while AB got 30 minutes instead of the other way around.

    Luther is NOT the solution.

Nah I don't like HEad in the starting lineup. The reasons have already been covered in this thread.

He's a spot up shooter and nothing else. We can't risk him being in the starting lineup and picking up TOs.

Spot up shooters are always perfect coming off the bench when you need a few three's. I say that Adelman at least start playing him a bit. T-Mac needs to play less minutes to keep him fine for the playoffs. Distribute the minutes between BB, AB and Head more.

Yao and Ron can take up scoring responsibilities with less T-Mac minutes fine. And in and in the case they have an off night (a la Celtics) Play AB and BB more.

Well I am not sure about that. I mean we need T-Mac scoring more. I'd like to see him taking more shots, for example I think we didn't use him enough in the 1st half. It has to change.

I'd say start Brooks and see what happend when Rafer comes off the bench. But I am sure Adelman won't do anything like that.

Didn't a rookie suggest that we should start TMac at PG and got laughed at? :p

After watching Rafer these past years, I'm for any plan that gives him no playing time at all, even if it involves Luther Head.

I was that Rookie. At least I have the balls to admit it. It shows you how much weight 2 measly words like "contributing member" have.

Anyway my proposal was tmac, battier, ron at the 1, 2 and 3 respectively. I think that's less radical than starting head.

But I read through the comments and saw everyone's argument against my idea and I guess it makes some sense. Out bench would be weak without battier or ron in it.

Anyway, I really don't like the idea of the Rockets still being TMac's team in crunch time. The guy's back is gonne tweak at the first sign of him starting to play good again. He's a great contributing player and I think he can easily be our clutch guy (especially in playoffs), but that doesn't mean he has to play all game long.

ROFLMAO....I would love to hear it.....does it have ANYTHING to do with acquiring Rafer in the first place?

    ;)

Honestly guys, I have been all over the PG issue for years....I just think you need a competent PG to win in the league, even with 3 great stars....like Yao, Tmac and Artest....

Our PG sucks....Rafer is garbage.....has been for every year he has been here.....

People consistently applaud his small stretches of stellar play ignoring the 70% of games he plays horribly in....

Yes, he can dribble, Yes he can play the passing lanes....but he is a HORRID PG..one of the worst in the league.....

And yet...he is like a crutch because he is a low turnover player......Rick Adelman should know better......get a guy who can actually hit a basket (like AB) and watch this team explode.

    .....Rafer is not it.

Are there any PG's available for trade?

    Portland has 3 in :

    Blake
    Bayless
    Rodriguez

    Could we pry one away?

If this team had Steve Blake, it would be SOOOOOOO much better.
