Do you guys think this ad is too racy for TV? Apparently they do in Australia. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/03/avianova-airlines-racy-co_n_634689.html Earlier this week Russian airline Avianova aired this commercial, which shows a team of bikini-clad flight attendants washing an airplane while a gaggle of men watch, and caused quite a controversy. The Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported that Secretary of the Flight Attendants Association of Australia Jo-Ann Davidson said ads like this "put flight attendants at risk." "This type of provocative advertising using cabin crew in this light is not tolerated in Australia and should not be acceptable anywhere else," Ms Davidson said, according to the Telegraph. The Australian newspaper also accused a number of other airlines of objectifying flight attendants too, from the UK's Ryanair to our very own Southwest Airlines. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/VjO_NZrQVNA&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xd0d0d0&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VjO_NZrQVNA&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xd0d0d0&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
Much better than this Russian ad for tires I saw last week : <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/suwrguOdQSQ&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/suwrguOdQSQ&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
On a side note, I've flew KLM to Europe and multiple different Asian airlines when I go to China and I will note one thing, the flight attendance on foreign airlines are much more attractive. While I feel really proud of the feminist movement in the U.S. where sex and physical attraction doesn't matter in getting a job as a flight attendant, I'm conflicted to find that having pretty flight attendance does make a flight slightly more tolerable .
Too much of sexual innuendo for an airline ad. If it's about body slimming, then I think it's acceptable.
I haven't seen it but I would imagine something along the lines of a sprite bottle inserted in an orifice to open the bottle.
