Sexy blues rift starts it all off. Jack White is a God. I have a huge man crush on him and want to do him a lot. You think I'm kidding?

I like the first song off this album a lot more than Steady As She Goes. Couldn't get the widget to work, so here's the youtube version, but the audio sucks. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/azCCndwWXy4&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/azCCndwWXy4&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> I recommend watching the video on their site: http://www.theraconteurs.com/widget.html
I downloaded it yesterday and listened to it a few times. Its good but I still prefer the stripped down sound of the white stripes.
Yeah, but they are not the White Stripes. If Jack White was not in this band, would you like them? I would. I'd follow him there and do him.
Just got it yesterday and have only listened to the first song, which I give a "B" on first listen. Excited about the rest of it. Still listen to their first album..."Intimate Secretary" is one of my all time favorite songs
There's a live version on iTunes that starts out kind of country and then goes into a crazy JW solo in the middle. Much better than the album version. I saw them two years ago at Verizon and then at ACL that weekend. They played the alternate version there too. Very good band. Their live shows were very fun because they didn't have enough songs back then and would play covers. They played the Kill Bill song. Noice. After giving it more of a listen, I give it a JELAFIED.
mwloo- I have seen the White Stripes live twice, but never the Raconteurs. While I love the WS live shows, I sometimes get annoyed by Jack always playing the songs 10 times faster than on the albums (though sometimes I dig it and his crazy solo's) Do the Raconteurs play the same way live or are the songs played around the same speed as they are on the album?
I am so jealous of you. I love the White Stripes and have never seen them live other than their dvd. I like it when they play the songs fast. Much more energy. I like the improvisation and medley-like performance on that dvd. When I first saw Death Letter on the dvd, I creamed myself. The Raconteurs are more of your typical rock band though. Jack will go off every once in awhile and go into a longer solo or some tangent. They typically stay within their songs, though. They do have alternate versions of songs like Call it a Day and Store Bought Bones that they will play as well. As for the speed, it might be sped up for energy but nothing that takes away from the song itself. The Raconteurs are not the White Stripes. The band is very much fronted by Benson and White together, not just JW. A lot of people before the Raconteurs first toured were speculating it was going to be the JW show. He fits in very well and stays within the band, though. I would definitly make the trip to ATX to catch them at Stubbs in May. I'll be there.
