On the surface, it sounds like the stupidest excuse ever, but I actually kind of got the same issue with my maltese. she'll bark at black people or strangers who wear dark clothes for no good reason but is fine with everyone else. She gets better after she sniffs them, but the inital reaction is quite vicious. With asians or white people, she just walks up to them and tries to lick them. the first black guy my dog got vivious at was this guy who bought my car that I was about to junk, so in my eyes he was like my best friend at that moment
You could sell your dog to the KKK for a lot or money. Or to a Cracker Barrel. Or to Bank of America or Haliburton, so I've heard from people who work there.
From his actions, my dog hates people pulling up in my driveway and knocking on my door. That's must be it though, because after all that barking he runs under the couch.
My comment was a huge generalization of something that does sometimes occur. I know a couple old widow ladies whose dogs hate "men" -- it just so happens that these same ladies are paranoid about "men" breaking into their house.
My dog used to bark at walkers that exagerate their arm motions and "march" with real serious looks on their faces. We could make him bark just by imitating them.
poor ladybird. and whoever said that dogs pick up on the owners reactions, feelings is right...typically. but sometimes dogs just arent familiar with black people and are naturally cautious around them if they dont get familiar
My last dog HATED Saudis. She would be soooo vicous to the women in their abya (sp?!) and the saudi men in their thobes. but to everyone else my dog was the nicest thing ever. The only person she ever bit was an arab street cleaner...she bit him in his ass. Other than that, the dog loved EVERYONE.
