I was not aware of how bad the racism is in Europe until I saw this video a few years ago. It really amazes me to see that Nations that claim to be so progressive have so many backwards minded people...

Would not be surprised if some posters on this board were a part of this.

There are idiots everywhere, including Europe or America or Asia.

Especially at soccer these idiots have a way to express themselves.

That being said, I believe in general most of these people do not dislike black people, but just know that that is the way to get under their skin. Similar to how certain soccer "fans" shouted things about the wife of trainer Van Gaal (currently with Bayern Munich), when she was terminally ill with Cancer.

    Those people are disgusting.

Yes, but this is European racism. Done by Europeans, so it is part of the European ideology.

In fact, there have been political parties in Germany, for example, who have condoned the same brand of nationalistic pride that was present in the mid-40's.

I think most of this sports racism is done in Europe as well. I haven't seen any proof that it happens frequently in other places like it doed among Europeans.

Agree with you 100% but this quote sticks out in the story at 3 minutes and 41 seconds in, which leads me to believe that they also have a personal agenda.

"The continent in fact is home to dozens of far right political parties, many of which have become popular by breeding fear of black and muslim immigrants"

The British National Party of Great Britain is a good example of these far right political parties, they make the TEA party look like a bunch of ferries, and get away with saying a lot of hateful remarks.

Racism in sporting events in Europe seems very common. I was in Paris for the World Cup in 2006 and I was surprised at how open everyone was about it.

Yes, I've also heard countless stories about the treatment of black players in Europe. I specifically recall Samuel Etoo, Fabio Liverani and Mario Balotelli being among the most popular stories.

I think the best feel-good story in this area is the German national football team and how they have improved now that the team owes so much to immigrants. Ozil, Khedira, Boateng, they even have a Brazilian guy now (Caco?).

Trust me I know about these right winged parties they are terrible. We have one such party in the Netherlands. :( And that party became popular by breeding fear of Muslims. Black people not so much.

Maybe it is different in Spain, but I think there is more fear of muslims than of black people.

Maybe some of these idiots do have personal agenda's, but i think in general they are just stupid and want to get the players to play badly.

That being said, the people in the dutch popular right winged party (the PVV) seem to be similar to the tea p[arty leaders in many aspects. So like I said I do not think there is more racism in Europe than in America.

Like I said before there are idiots everywere.

"Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans only as members of groups and never as individuals. Racists believe that all individual who share superficial physical characteristics are alike; as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called "diversity" actually perpetuate racism. Their intense focus on race is inherently racist, because it views individuals only as members of racial groups."

It doesn't really matter why it's happening, it just matter that it is happening, and seems unusually prevalent among Europeans.

Why are Europeans doing this more than others?

I think rascism is more prevalent in Europe because it's not used to having immigrants. For a long time people emigrated from Europe to America. Now, immigrants come to Europe and bring new languages, customs, and religions.

You may be correct because I don't follow Soccer closely, but the point I am trying to make is how come this is so widely accepted in Nations that are mainly developed nations and pride themselves in their values of democracy and progressiveness?
