Not buying that they would then risk giving up the #2 seed just for that. Why does it matter WHEN you face the Rockets or Warriors? Just go out and beat them if you think you have the stones. You think the players would be about this mini-tanking, I don't, that's a tough sell IMO. It's a reward for winning their division, no conspiracy theory here.

I rooted for them last year against OKC in the playoffs with no shame

It does matter if you have to face both.

With houston at #4, if denver make it to the WCF, they would have to only face whoever limps out of a Rockets v GSW series. A significantly better scenario than playing Rockets in semis (and if by some stroke of luck make it through) then go up against GSW in WCF.

 

At first, I didn't think so either, but when he benched two guys that were playing well in the 4th quarter and they choke up the game, it's suspect.
