hey guys, im in austrlai and we are just getting the first episodes of the tv sit-com "Friends" and i heard somewhere that rachel dies when she gives birth???? is this true? can anyone back this up? thanks
It won't happen. The entire cast just signed on for one more year which they claim will be the last. The rumor was that Rachel would die in child birth and that Chandler and Monica would take the baby. That right there is false since the child would go to Ross.
That was one of three alternative endings to the final episode for this season. Of course, like bobrek mentioned, they signed on for one more season, which pretty much nullifies that ending.
No, it's all true. Rachel will die during childbirth, and she has signed on for next season because she will play Rachel's ghost, who will haunt Ross and also advise him on his perpetual women troubles. Actually, I just made all that up. But feel free to spread it throughout the internet as fact.
i heard they all signed on for another season at, get this.... one million dollars and episode per actor!!! WTF what's funny is it's the writers that make it funny, how much do they get?
Sounds suspiciously like that "Simpsons spin-off" segment where Grandpa died and ended up haunting the love machine in Moe's.
Friends RULES! Yeah the writers are the ones that are writing the funny lines, but you still need good actors. I mean who else can act Joey, Chandler and Ross? They all have their unique characteristics that make the show so damn funny. Fibi on the other hand is just plain annoying now.
Ross and Rachel did the deed about six weeks before Monica and Chandler's wedding. Rachel was at home (in the apartment she shared with Joey) addressing wedding invitations for Monica when Ross came by to ask Joey something. Joey wasn't there so Ross and Rachel started talking -- yada, yada, yada -- now they're gonna have a baby.
Mrs. JB...you forgot to mention that Joey is in love with Rachel. Does anyone think that the couples will end up the way it seems they should end up? (Chandler/Monica, Ross/Rachel, Joey/Phoebe) I sorta miss Janice's character... "Chand-luh Beeeeng. ha ha ha ha ha ha ...."
Yes, I did forget that Joey THINKS he is in love with Rachel. But, I have a feeling that will pass pretty quickly. She's already moved in with Ross -- those two will end up together. I was hoping the show would end after this season. They could have wrapped it up so nicely. Monica would find out she's pregnant, Ross and Rachel would get married right before she has the baby. And Joey and Phoebe would finally realize that they're meant for each other. Now the additional season gives them time to screw with us a little longer and drag out the Ross, Rachel, Joey triangle. But I'm certain that Ross and Rachel will eventually end up together. In fact I just read in the NY Times the other day that there is potential spin-off series talk involving just Joey's character. That right there should tell you he won't get Rachel. Obviously I spend too much of my time analyzing this stupid sitcom. I'm so ashamed ...
That's interesting because over the last season or so, I've noticed how much Matt LaBlanc has improved from earlier in the series. I think he has developed his character much better than either of the other two guys. Ross is just too big a dork now (although that's probably more the writers fault) and sometimes you can just tell that Matthew Perry is mailing it in as Chandler.
I watch the show and what I don't like about it is when did Rachel and Ross fall out of love??? I remember Ross spouting Rachel's name out loud at his marriage to that lovely British gal whom I believe he never loved(or else why would he say Rachel's name). Then, Rachel comes out after that and tells Ross, "I'm still in love with you". So, when exactly did they fall out of love is what I want to know? I thought she had fallen out of love with him when he slept with that other chick during their "break" which wasn't officially a "break". That was before the wedding so obviously she still loved him. Then, they get married in Vegas on their drunken face-paint fiasco. Then, Ross doesn't want to nullify the marriage because it would be another divorce on his record(yeah...that's the real reason....sure). Then, Rachel pushes for the divorce....not sure why because deep down I think she is still in love with Ross....probably because it was a drunk blackout wedding(which makes sense). Then, Ross and Rachel sleep together any time they aren't getting any(aka horny). Then, they have flings with other airheads. In the end, Ross has loved this chick since the high school prom and before that. Rachel loved Ross even after Ross got married(remember how she tried to stop it). So, when did they fall out of love exactly? Hello....writers....anyone home. Nice way to keep the ratings up, anyway. Funny how when their both free....neither side wants the other....especially when they have every reason to be together cause of the baby. Then, dumbass Joey who doesn't have a clue about anything comes into the picture just to make it where everyone has made a move on everyone else and there's noone left out of all of them to make a move on the other(hehe...or whatever). Joey has some fetish about pregnant chicks, is a sucker for "feeling someone else's baby kick", and feels he must be the "daddy" figure for his roommate who is having someone else's baby. So, the rest of this season and the final season is going to be about the triangle Ross-Rachel-Joey. Whoopity doo....break out the tissues ladies. Boo hoo. I kind of wish one of them would die. Maybe Rachel can die and Ross and Joey can elope to Mexico with the baby. Why don't they just convert this over to a damn Soap Opera? It has all the makings of daytime...but with the added twist of comedy.
I don't watch Friends and have no interest in watching it every, so I couldn't care less about it. I think it is a bad show.
Really. I think Matthew Perry's character has the best chance of post friends success. He seems to have some of those 'Frasier' characteristics taht made Frasier one of the most successful spin-offs ever. Like Frasier on Cheers, Chandler's commedic impact on Friends is more of the witty type, where LeBlanc really seems to still be playing off the fact that his character is dumb (although thats not really his fault). Not that LeBlanc would make a terrible spinoff, but aside from Friends I cant picture him in any other show except Mac and Cheese or something like that
