The small man who drove the robot with a big heart has proven to also have a big thirst. Kenny Baker, the now-70-year-old actor who piloted the R2-D2 robot to intergalactic fame, has been convicted of drunk driving. Baker was fined $209 and is banned from driving for a year. While contrite about his offense, Baker did say it was an opportunity to hire a female chaffeur, but that might be difficult since he said, "I'd prefer it if she was two foot six inches." Baker added, "I did break the law, so I have to be punished." It was not immediately clear if Baker was referring to the courts or the potential hire.
I can imagine the conversation between him and the officer after being pulled over... Officer: Do you know why I pulled you over sir? Kenny: Because I'm a Little Drunk?
Officer: License and registration please. Kenny: (waves hand) These aren't the droids you're looking for. Officer: Step out of the car.
