    Steve Irwin dead

THE Crocodile Man, Steve Irwin, is dead.

He was killed in a freak accident in Cairns, police sources said.

It is understood he was killed by a sting-ray barb that went through his chest.

He was swimming off the Low Isles at Port Douglas filming an underwater documentary and that's when it occured.

Ambulance officers confirmed they attended a reef fatality this morning at Batt Reef off Port Douglas.

It is understood Mr Irwin was killed around midday, Eastern Australian time.

very sad. Unfortunately, he and his wife spoke often on how they thought they and at least he would die from his trade. Doesn't make it easier on his child :(

Many prayers go to his family.

Man, if that's true, that's sad. I know he had a reputation for being goofy and out there with his actions, but you could tell he loved what he did and believed in it.

    RIP Mr. Irwin. :(

    Man that's sad. :(

But it's the life they live. Irwin, Jeff Corwin and the like. Always a moment away from death.

What are the odds of a freaking string ray doing him in?

You'd think it'd be a croc.. or maybe a snake.. but a ray.. man, thats off the wall.

Wow! That's really sad. I would always make fun of the guy and his crazy accent. But deep down inside, I always knew that the man loved what he did and he had more courage that I'll ever have. :(

    RIP :(

    RIP Steve.

My favorite ESPN commercial is the one with him and the Florida Gator mascot.
