    RIP

    I agree a great man. While he became famous for his line in the 1988 VP debate, "I knew Jack Kennedy and you sir, are no Jack Kennedy." he did a lot more than that. This is a loss for Texas and the America.

    A hell of a Texan, and a hell of an American. What a disinquished career the gentleman had. It's a bit odd that he'll be remembered primarily for making Dan Quayle look like a fool, although I really enjoyed watching that moment.

    Rest in peace. You've earned it.

    Quayle: That was really uncalled for, Senator. (Shouts and applause)

    Bentsen: You are the one that was making the comparison, Senator - and I'm one who knew him well. And frankly I think you are so far apart in the objectives you choose for your country that I did not think the comparison was well-taken.
