Gaydar going crazy. And I'm tired of this blame the media bs. What happened when someone actually DID care about those African kids that this guy refers to (for example, the KONY campaign)--there was a crusade against the movement and an attempt to destroy the campaign, and the same kids who have this blame the media mentality wanted to be rebels and know-it-alls and not share the KONY video. We are at a point where people can start their own campaigns and draw attention to a certain problem in the world thanks to our technology. Once again, the KONY movement is a great example.

Not sure why awkward college kids looking for friends on message boards project a holier than thou attitude because they clicked a link and signed a petition, and think they come off as enlightened and intelligent because of it. Donate some of your own money to these people, coordinate efforts to get resources to them, or take the time to go to Burma and understand their story yourself. Sitting on your ass all day in front of a computer and playing video games makes means nothing. Regulated.

Actually I donate money, I don't just sign petitions. I also posted links to raise awareness to other donations and fundraisers here in the past. Your ignorant high-azz posts make you look like a jackass, it's annoying a lot of people here. If you don't know me then don't come up with such an ignorant post accusing or labelling me to be selfish and not doing anything but singning petitions and trying to come off as a saviour. That's funny, I have always wondered why the media never seems willing to report on the horrific abuses of women in every Muslim country.
None of you would have taken out the time to look at the video if the title stated "care for burma" or something along those lines. The title actually made you watch the video. Nobody said that the event which occurred in Colorado isn't important but we are wishing that some people will mention the events in other places which are worse. As for the "kony 2012" thing, didn't people say that Kony hasn't been active for about 10 years? They brought up Kony after it has already dealt with?
Sadly, I do not understand why in Muslim Countries the people are treating females so horribly. In Islam, it clearly states that the females are very important in Islam. If a man gets married then from what I've heard that it is half the religion of Islam completed. I also don't understand it because Islam has given a lot of importance to Females. This just surprises me.. I am disgusted by what happens about it...
Nah,I would have respected the video if it said care for burma and the twink hosting it wasn't talking out of his ass about the media. He stripped the issue of it's integrity by catering to the lowest common denominator. When you say "worse", you have to put things in perspective. That region (extending to cambodia) has a long history of genocidal oppression from the Khmer Rouge regime to a number of guerilla tribes with unreasonable issues. They aren't the first group to be denied refugee status and persecution is nowhere near the scale of the Rwanda genocide despite how terribly they're treated by Burma. Ppl are noticing what's going on but it's not an overnight process, and catering to the shock value of 13 year old kids isn't going to change a thing.
But white people die everyday and nobody knows about those deaths because that darn media is soooo racist.....
