Al Lewis, aka Grandpa Munster, dies at 95 NEW YORK — Al Lewis, the cigar-chomping patriarch of The Munsters whose work as a basketball scout, restaurateur and political candidate never eclipsed his role as Grandpa from the television sitcom, died after years of failing health. He was 95.
That sucks! But LOL, CNN.com has him dead at age 83. WTF?!?! http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/TV/02/04/lewis.obit.ap/index.html
whats funny is usually all the ap/wire stuff is the same, the cnn report says 83 http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/TV/02/04/lewis.obit.ap/index.html but everywhere else says 95, thought that was unexplained
he must have been dominican or something for having two different ages. maybe he was trying to play for the Yankees or Red Sox or something.
RIP Granpa. One of my alltime favorite comedies from my youth. according to imdb, AL Lewis was born April 30 1910 in NY, so he was 95 and probably a lifelong Knicks fan.
In "p*rn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy" he had a pretty unique roll, that was just being himself. RIP
