Star Trek: Nemesis: GAWD FREAKING DAMN...ANOTHER Star Trek movie? There's a small part of me that wants to somehow lure ever Trekkie in the nation to one room and drop a bomb on the place. At least George Lucas has the sense to stop at six movies...

Maid in Manhattan: Wow, another romantic comedy that will end like every single other romantic comedy in cinematic history. Over/under on the number of actors that turned down the male lead before the producers had to settle on Ralph Fiennes - 7. A couple of Jennifer Lopez tittie shots might draw me in to see this one, but I doubt it...

The Hot Chick: If there was one movie that screamed "I wouldn't watch this even if you paid me", this is it. To paraphrase the clutchcity.net whipping boy GrEgOnOmIcS, "Yo Rob Schneider...STOP MAKING MOVIES!!"

Can anybody recommend any good books for some light weekend reading??

This is my first free Saturday in months since college football's regular season is over.

I literally have spent every Saturday for the past 3 months glued to the couch from noon until midnight watching college football and "College Gameday" afterwards.

So now that I can leave the apartment you're telling me there's nothing to do? Aaargh!

Maybe I'll go see "Die Another Day". Is it any good?

schneider should really do some more movies where he switches bodies with someone...or transforms in some way...and then plays off the hijinxs and hilarity from the physical comedy that flows when we see him acting like an animal or a young girl...that would be awesome...we simply don't see enough of that!

i think a remake of "like father, like son" (previously starring kirk cameron and dudley moore) is in order with good old rob leading the way!!!

    "making copies..."

die another day is easily the best of the brosnan bond movies...if you're a bond fan, you'll like it. i'm a ridiculous bond fan...i really liked it...maybe in my top 5 bond movies ever..which would read something like this:

    1. from russia with love
    2. live and let die
    3. goldfinger
    4. diamonds are forever
    5. die another day

That wouldn't work. We'd just beam out before the bomb hits. :D

I've heard seriously mixed reviews for Nemesis. Some say it's more like "Star Drek" (like Harry Knowles did over at aint-it-cool-news.com). Others say it's bold and exciting. At the very least, everyone agrees it's entertaining...

If you do want a good book, I'd recommend this one...

    Holy crap!

If you go to this link that VS posted, check out the first listing under "Customers who wear clothes also shop for:"

First of all, what freakin' customer doesn't wear clothes.
Second of all, I assume that means this book is worthy of bathroom reading material?

Eh, I was only trying to be a smartass to A-Train (who undoubtedly deserves a taste of his own medicine). :)

I don't read that schlocky sci-fi crap. I stick to Star Wars books only... :D

I noticed that in your quote. It puzzled me to see someone who defends both Star Trek AND Star Wars. I'm a Star Wars fan myself.

The version of the script I read for Nemesis was awesome. Don't know how close that was to the final draft though.

Thanks for bringing it up, A-Train. I had completely forgotten it was coming out tomorrow. :D

And next weekend may be the best.

The Two Towers, Gangs of New York, Adaptation (here in Dallas, anyway), About Schmidt (here in Dallas, anyway), and Two Weeks Notice. Yes, I want to see that. **** you if you can't take a joke. Of course, I did really enjoy Maid in Manhattan too. :)

Gangs of New York gets pushed back for lots of different reasons, I heard rumors about them worrying they may lose money among other things. Anyways, they push it back to the same day as Two Towers? They are gonna lose money.

Did anybody see South Park 2 weeks ago? They made fun of the whole Rob Schneider movie formula thing. One commerical was for "Rob Schneider is, The Stapler." Then there was, "Rob Schneider is, The Carrot." The best, though, was "Robe Schneider in, Dirp de Dirp de Dirpidy Dirp de Dirp de Dirp de Dumb," (something like that, you get the picture).
