STARTING AT CENTER FOR YOUR 2003 HOUSTON ROCKETS.................JASON COLLIER! Is that a scary thought or what? We are a Cato injury away from this being a permanent move.
Since he was injured last year, this is basically Collier's rookie season. Since he is contracted for next season and has a team option for 2003-2004, let him play. All I can tell you is - get used to it.
Get used to what? I do not expect to see him in the rotation next year. I expect a rotation of ten and I do not see him in it. I do not have a problem with him in garbage time. I suppose if Cato got injured, we may see more of him. If this team is going to produce next year the 48 mins at the 5 spot should go to Cato, EG and MoT; not to mention if we brought in a half way decent rookie.
If Jason Collier is our center next year, we had better get used to threads that have to do with end-of-season tanking
Boy, I finally saw what Collier is going to be able to deliver. What an impressive stroke. Solid back up if he gets that down.
I guess people need something to complain about but Collier was never projected to be the starter he was the back-up. If he was supposed to be the starter he would have started the season as a starter. He didn't become the starter until injuries hit so why on earth would you suddenly think that Collier would start next year? I'm guessing that once the Rockets roster get healthy that Griffin and Mo and a new pick-up will share the load at center. Mo was doing it before the injury.
Are you being sarcastic? If so you should have used the . This is what I meant earlier by "get used to it". The majority of posters here are very quick to make bad comments about Collier but the realization is that this is his first full season, he is recovering from injury and has never had a real chance to get his "game legs" under him to demonstrate his shot. (Glen Rice supporters fully understand this one ). Collier is fundamentally sound and plays within himself. The "get used to it" also was meant to imply that CD & RT like Collier as a serviceable backup. As I also mentioned prior, he is under contract for one more year with a team option on the 2004 season. Management likes him regardless of what is said here at CC.net.
Gater, I definitely mis-spoke and I was not being sarcastic. I have League Pass this year so I did not see when he was performing well last year; although I followed it on audio league pass and the CC chat. I guess I had been waiting for the performance (shooting) he put on last night for some time and was losing patience. I get burnt like that every so often. The only one that have not come back yet to haunt me is my take on Wink and his pg skills. Of course I hope that one come back too.
Collier played awesome last night. He looked like a good player. He had a nice stroke. He also drove to the lane pretty well. Before the game I thought he was really slow, but when he drove it to the rack and got fouled a couple of times, that quickly changed my mind on his speed.
