one word: paralegal Can fill out all the paperwork competently without the hourly charge of a lawyer.
It really depends on what country or state you sojourn. The common way people tell me is in Vegas when living in the US. In my beloved country, the Philippines, divorce is prohibited but there is an exception. The exception is when a Filipino marries a foreigner or when two Filipinos marry and one goes abroad (in the US for example) and obtains a valid divorce there. Even though divorce is prohibited in our country, the fact that a valid divorce was obtained leads to a legal absurdity that one can marry while the other cannot. Here, if one obtains a valid divorce, the Filipino can marry again if s/he can prove the divorce papers exist and it is shown in court. I don't know if it is also available in US Law but there is also such a thing as "declaration of presumptive death" or death in the eyes of the law which allows a person to remarry again. Also, I think that Philippine Civil Law is very much similar to LA Civil Law
i thought ya'll weren't really married married? it takes EXPERT to divorce someone that an't never been married...

yeah it is a joke for the annoying sigs thread in the feedback forum and it is taking forever to pay off. I tried to pick the most annoying thing possible.
I think annulment is like within the first 6 months or something. All I really want is custody of The Hangout. She can stay in the D&D.
I wouldn't take that deal if I were finals. Giving up gold and accepting trash. Seriously though, you should be able to have a very cheap easy divorce since you weren't married long, neither of you has a bunch of money, and the split is mutual.
i don't know, the catholic church annulled my parents marriage after 20 years, even tho neither of them was catholic. i know this will come as no surprise to most of you, but, at least in the eyes of the pope, i'm a b*stard.
Don't worry. I am too. My mother was never married in a Catholic church (she was raised Catholic) and when we went back to church they told her that we were not allowed in and that I was a b*stard and going to hell. Oh well.
I hired a lawyer that was a family friend. As long as you two agree on everything it should be fairly straightforward.
Like everyone has said, if you both agree on stuff, and don't have much to split, itshould be straight forward...I know two friends of mine that did it at the court where they live and it cost like $300 to file. There is a either a 60 or 90 day waiting period but otherwise, you just fill out the paper work, wait and presto, you're done!
I suspect he is talking about anulling in the eyes of the law as opposed to the church (especially considering they weren't married in a church).
In Travis county, there is an uncontested divorce kit with all the forms and a free reference attorney that can review it for you. That's what I did. Check your county's web sites.
