I have two questions about the game tonight. I wasn't able to tune into the game until Houston had the lead late and then squandered it.

    1) Where were Lin and Asik tonight? It seems like they hardly played this game.

    2) What the heck was the call late when we were back within 3 points and PPat blocked the shot, but was called for being out of bounds? When it showed the replay on the Dallas NBA League Pass channel, I couldn't see anyone out of bounds. Seemed like a stupid call and then everyone fell asleep on defense with Mayo hitting a 3 a second later.

Let me know what you guys know/think.

    1. Mchale decided to bench them in the fourth quarter. Benched Asik to match Dallas' small lineup. Benched Lin so Douglas could guard Mayo.

    2. Dumb call.

    Who?

Let it go, this would only be the first time that the refs have made a wrong call at a critical moment when we're playing Dallas.

McHale was stubborn and should have eased into duties. He was out coached and his rotations were horrendous. I wanted him fired before all of this happened and inevitably I wish he would just step down. A good guy and a bad situation but that doesn't give him a pass for being a terrible HC.

A question I had was Greg Smith was a rotational player with Sampson. Now it appears Aldrich has replaced Smith in rotation now that McHale is back. Smith has been good for the Rox lately and deserved to keep his rotational spot. I didn't see anything tonight that warranted him being benched. I don't know if it was just for this game or what.

Harden can't score ? Blame Lin for not being a good point guard. Harden can't defend ? Blame Lin for not defending and bring in Toney Douglas to guard Harden's man. Lin #1 escape goat now for McHale and Sampson it seems.

I want to know if Lin played bad tonight 2-4 with 7 points added with 2 Steals 2 Reb 2 Assits. 1 TO and 2 PF

Is it bad to bench him?

#1. Douglas played extended minutes because he was the only answer to OJ Mayo defensively. Lin was getting torched. Asik was not having a great game on either end, but it mostly came down to the success they were having earlier offensively going super small. The gameplan fell apart in the final 2 minutes. Tough time to switch your lineup.

#2. There were a few questionable calls tonight. I expect that Carter will get a flopping warning for the clear flop tonight. However, the refs didn't lose this game for the Rockets. The Rockets lost it themselves with their pathetic defensive effort, and lack of rebounding from their bigs.

#3. Game action thread... see about it next time instead of creating ANOTHER knee jerk panic rookie thread.

Um, Lin played all of 6 minutes in the first half, and he was guarding Fisher, who also started the game. I don't know where this 'getting torched' is coming from.

I thought PG defends PG, so Lin matches up against fisher and harden against Mayo? Mayo was hot whole game anyway, and hit clutch shots after clutch shots in the last few minutes

Doesn't matter, it's still Lin's fault anyway LOL.

ah excuse me. Lin is a 6'3 pg. Lin was guarding the other team pg fisher and collison. Mayo was Harden job a 6'5 shooting guard.

the rockets was leading going to the start of 4th quarter. lets just say the rockets blew it.

It is safe to say you didn't watch the game.......... Lin's was assigned to guard Derek Fisher, and Fisher couldn't do a thing against Lin. Lin did not guard Mayo on a single play.

It seems like the coaches chose TD to guard Mayo only because Mayo happened to miss an open shot with TD guarding him.

I'll go out on a limb here. Had Lin been assigned to guard Mayo, the Rockets win that game. He wouldn't have shut Mayo down, but there was no real secondary threat on the Mavs team.

Exactly Lin was playing better D than Douglas. Plus the offense just stalls when Douglas is in the game for the most part, 35 minutes 3 assist.

Watched the game actually. TD was in the game because he did the best job of anyone guarding OJ. Not saying Harden DIDN'T leave much to be desired on defense, but he was guarding the PG a good majority of the game. Especially after he tweaked his ankle.

So chill the F out LOF'ers. Douglas actually played a big hand in getting the Rockets back in the game. Please just go play 2K13 with Lin please. You can go play him all 48 minutes if you want.

Let me add a question!!!! Why is that you are up 11 points with 5 mins. left and continue to take 3 pointers? Why not drive to the basket? Why is Harden the only consistent player on this team? Why no Marcus Morris tonight? Why can't we finish games?

as others have already mentioned, lin was not getting torched by mayo.

also, the gameplan fell apart much earlier in the 4th than the last 2 minutes. we had an 11pt lead..

also, the thread asks legitimate questions which are worthy of not having to be fished out of a chaotic game thread, and in any case you are nobody to scold the OP, who is a very good poster with 11years tenure on you.
