I've posted about this, and others have posted about this, but Stephen Jackson is one of the most confusing people in basketball. He grew up in Port Arthur, lives there now. I've met him. I know a lot of people who went to school with him at Lincoln and know him well. He does a lot for the community here. (There's a lot of poverty and a lot of opportunity.) He is a genuinely nice guy. According to the people who knew him, he was a nerd in high school, and a good student. For the life of me, I don't know where this other side of him comes from. Maybe he's easily influenced, and has bad/stupid people around him. But I've met him at the YMCA, know plenty of people who know him, and no one knows where this comes from.

i dont understand why people are so hard on sjax. a one-tech ejection really doesn't make sense and he clearly got shafted. saying 'oh look at his history' is ridiculous. doing stuff like this is just going to make it harder for a guy to try and start fresh when all he gets are reminders of his past. i feel sorry for the guy, and am ashamed for people who take so much pleasure in judging others for their past problems. like you've never done something wrong.
