General draft is a draft where each team places 2 of their 5 starters into a player pool to be drafted by all of the GM controlled teams. It helps balance out the power by having the top tier teams give up a couple good players for the bad teams (Hawks ) to draft. How is selection based? In other words, same for both? From where do the players in the general come? Selection based on regular season records, just like the real draft, 2 rounds. Look above to see where the players come from. When are each? General happens at the end of the season, the rookie draft will come in july when we have an idea how good these college guys entering the draft are. Why has there been a pre-season before a draft? We already had our general draft. And will someone give me my damn team stats! You have to be patient with the stats, The Cat is the only dude that has the most recent stats and he has a lot of people throwing out names and stat requests. You'll get your stats soon I'm sure. Also, on the general draft, there's talk that we might only have one more draft, so this draft at the end of this upcoming season might be the last one. ------------------ You must always give the Dream back his change!

Actually you probably did get 2 players from another team. When we drafted a player from your team we had to drop a player, Those dropped players were re distributed to the teams that lost players. CAT, On the draft, since I just made a major trade in the hopes of getting a higher draft pick in the rookie draft, can you set the amount of games we are going to before the draft order will be given. The first, second, third tie breakers, etc... Thanks. ------------------ I am an invisible man.
What Cat said earlier is that he hoped that the final regular season record would decide the order, but if we've not copleted the second season around draft-time then the record we have when we do will decide the order. I looked back how the order was decided for the first draft ever. It was: 1. Record, if tied then 2. Record in games between those who are tied. If tied then 3. Conference record ... The general draft will be after the playoffs of this year, and will go from worst to first based on regular season record, with non playoff teams getting first chance. The rookie draft will occur around approx. June 20-25 of this year, or the week preceding the real draft. It doesn't appear that we'll be finished with the season at that point (probably through 60-70 games), so we will go from worst to first based on regular season record at that point and have the draft then. However, rookies will not count until the next season. Players from the general draft come from other teams-- each team submits two of their starters, or top 6 in some cases.
