what is steve francis' trade value now? will the rockets wait till the offseason to do it if its not where they want it or cut their losses at the trade deadline?

David Aldridge: (2:12 PM ET ) It's high, but Houston certainly wouldn't do anything before his base year expires in the summer. I don't want folks to think that a deal is imminent; I've only said that I think the Rockets will have to look at it this summer

I saw that. He feels it's high. I have a feeling that Sportswriters and GMs across the nation put a much higher value on Francis than we do here at ClutchFans.

It would have been interesting to see Aldridge equate Francis' value with another player. I think that is the only way we really can get a good feel of his trade value.

I am telling you guys it will be a HUGE mistake to trade Francis. He is having one bad half season and everyone wants to trade him. Remember the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. You may think we don't need Steve now but once he is gone, he is gone...If he goes to another team he will flourish even more and we will regret it BIG time. Houston fans are so impatient and feeble. 90% of people wanted to either trade the YAO pick for Lamar Odom and another scrub or pick Jay Williams with the #1 pick in the draft. Where would we be with that ignorant decision??? The same thing goes with all these Francis trade rumors. I really hope the Rockets make the right decision for ONCE this time.

i hope to stay with the same team

i'm not a basher but if kobe and shaq can be in the same team
we can have steve and yao on the same team

i think we should sing or trade the backup players like jim jackson and pike

hope that the steve and yao bashing team calm down and live like a family

as ROCKETS :) :D  ;) keep it real

It went up a good bit last night, and if he continues playing like this he won't be traded. Of course, if the Rockets keep playing like they did last night we will be going deep into the playoffs. I really really hope that was "breakthrough" game, I just can't go back to "crapball."

Lamar and the #8 pick which would have been Amare.
    SF, CAT, Lamar, Amare, Cato
    that's not a bad starting line-up

Hold your horses everyone.. i havent been to pleased with SF3 so far this season but its still way too early for us to give him away. I admit sometimes his decision making makes me cry T.T but oh well I get over it the next day since I realize his efforts keep us close in many games too.

If Shaq and Kobe (not saying Yao and SF are at that level) can win 3 championships why cant our guys? Everyone knows we dont lack talent (maybe we even have too much) but we lack discipline and a good system. Everything is being put in place and I hope our guys can bring the effort and smart plays every night. Players always have their ups and downs but we have to see how everything pans out at the end of the season.

Last night we saw some glimpses...

    SF3 - Controlled and efficient PG (shooting/ rebounding/ assists)
Yao - dominating the paint and changing all kinds of shots while getting his rebounds
Cat - tearing it up in the lane, stepping back and showing his range.

Role players all solid.. this is the team I dream of playing everynight! I know its alot of expect but we cant honestly imagine having all stars in every position.

Everyone clicked together last night.. made the extra pass, made the smart decisions, hit their shots.

At least keep them together till the end of the year and do some tweaking (if necessary) then.

That's first round playoff fodder, at best.

    That's like

Marbury, Joe Johnson/Penny, Marion, Amare, White

    Why can't they win?

Thats an understatement ... His value is much higher around the league than here on CF. Too many people have "chosen sides" on CF(much more against Stevie than with) making truly objective analysis unrealistic. When you decide that SF is the devil, all you see is his mistakes, and when you think SF is the whole team all you see is what he does good.

I hope they don't trade him, but if they were going to, I'd expect us to get some real nice pieces in return.

How many games has Amare played this season??? He has been injured for the majority of the season, and he has no kind of shot...I would take Yao over Amare and Odom anyday. Peace.

Let's hope that the Rockets and Steve finish the season strong and have a solid effort in the playoffs, and all this trade talk will go away.

The ball is in the Rockets hands.
