I am planning on going to see the Rockets on either Monday, January 21, 2002 (MLK Day, I think) when they play at Atlanta and/or see them play the Grizzlies in Memphis on Friday, April 5, 2002. Atlanta is actually a closer drive from where I live compared to Memphis, but an NBA game is the only professional sporting event that I have not seen in person. Is there anybody here that is interested in going to these 2 games? I will try to get someone local to go with me, but if anyone is thinking about going, this would be a great time to get together and talk about the Rockets and maybe even try to get tickets that are close to each other. Email me at jfyoung@charter.net if you are thinking about going to either game.
Behad, That logic is just not right. Did I talk as much as I posted when we went to a game together? You got several words in, as I recall. Going to games with anyone on the BBS has consistently been a blast for me. There is nothing like a live Rockets game for everyone to agree with each other and just cheer....GO ROCKETS!!! cheers to Manny for organizing gatherings in other cities. btw behad...you are coming Friday for my brisket, right? email me. I've decided to take on the enormous pressure to produce myself, with ribs and chicken catered from Turnerhill in Abilene. What am I getting myself in to? But, what fun!!
Well, if you go to the Hawks game, you should get good seats close to the court. That building is always empty.
But maybe not this year with Abdur-Rahim, Kukoc, Ratliff, and Jason Terry. I think that you would have to consider the Hawks a legitimate playoff contender in the East just like the Rockets are a legitimate playoff contender in the West.
Ever seen a Soccer Champions League game in Europe (up to 120,000 people in attendance, most popular sport in the world) or a Soccer World Cup or European Championship or South American Championship game? That is probably what Legendary21 was referring to. You probably also could not claim to have seen a cricket or a handball match or a tennis davis cup match or...
Ah yes! I didn't even think about that. Once again my lack of clarity strikes. I should have said that the NBA is the only one of the big 4 of American sports that I have not seen--MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL.
I post a lot too, you know! It's still in the evening, right? I'll be there. Can't stay too late, because I'll have to be at work at 4am Saturday morning. Email to follow....I just woke up! <<=yawn
@ the voice: comparing the mls to the european leagues, is like comparing german basketball (basketball bundesliga) to the nba but hey, let´s talk rockx
The Hawks are going to be tough. If they had did right, they would have signed a big guard to hold the 2 guard and let Toni run the show from the 3
Hey, the MLS teams could compete in a league like Scotland, outside of the Old Firm anyway. And didn't the US beat Germany the last time they played in the Confederations Cup?
