I know that this subject has been greatly debated in this forum previously, but could Eddie play the 3 effectively? If Eddie could that would give us more options with regards to the draft. From where I am sitting there are only a couple of 3s that I would want on this team (Woods, Dunleavy, Grizzard, Jeffries) but if Eddie could man the position then we could talk about others (Gooden, Wilcox, or Ely). I would prefer that Eddie stay where heis at the 4, but if the 3s mentioned were not available I might think about switching him to the wing.
On the other hand, he is also unable to defend true inside players and has no post up game whatsoever. It all depends on how he improves.
Quickness/speed can't be improved that significantly, but he can put on some bulk. He will have a post-up game. With all due respect, please don't let him become Robert Horry.
Dang, I thought I was critical - "Can't defend *true* inside players or perimeter players and no postup game and no ballhandling skills" Why the heck did we draft this loser? How's he compare to Hakeem in his second year at UofH when Akeem was only 19? OK, how does Wally S guard *real* 2 guards? At least in terms of size and weight, Wally S and Kenny T are twins, and Wally S. plays the 2 and the 3, and Kenny T only plays the 4. Who does what when Kenny T and Eddie G were starting for that small stretch of games? There are so many permutations with Kenny T/Eddie G/Maurice T, and the AARP contingent, Glen Rice and Walt Williams.
The kind of basketball I'd most like to see him play in the future is the game Marion has. Could be a 3, could be a 4. THe more versatility, the better.
